virtual 3 way switch without a traveler wire or a hub, perfect!
I've got a light over my garage door that is wire on a circuit in the garage that I'd like to turn on when I turn my back porch light on. I'd also like the back porch light to come on when I turn on the light over the garage door in the garage. This is the only solution that I've found that enables this sort of action without having to add some sort of HUB or additional wiring. It works great and this now is the second house that I've done a similar setup with. The ability to slave other switches from a single switch without adding a hub is great. I'll likely add a hub at some point but you don't have to have one or the complication that comes along with it. These just work, very happy with them

Worked well for 6 months
The switch worked well for 6 months before failing - will be calling for warranty RMA. We are committed to Insteon products (with an ISY99 controller) because their dual mode technology is far more reliable than other wi-fi only systems tried. Most of their products are very capable and well thought out, but they do not make it easy for newbies to understand or use the system's power. We like being able to use these switches with the ISY controller, motion sensors and a mini-remote to get a lot of useful home automation. Along the way we suffered a lot of frustration trying to use the Insteon Hub and gave up in favor of the ISY

Broke and terrible customer service
I bought this a few months ago. It broke like all the other reports on here. I got off the phone with Insteon and they would not honor the warranty. They told me to contact Amazon. It was past the return policy when this broken, so I was disheartened and emailed Amazon on last ditch effort. They called within 10 min (maybe even less). from my email I sent and took my info to get the switch replaced.I am very impressed with Amazon's customer service and happy I have a replacement coming. I am however, very disappointed with Insteon and questioning continuing to make my house smart with their products. As far as working. When it works it is nice, I find the Insteon system buggy. I bought 2 extra switches at one point to control my outdoor lighting. Everytime the hub lost power, it would forget my location and put me in CA. So, when I told the hub to turn the lights on at sunset. It was CA sunset not Oklahoma sunset. They pushed out a fix for this recently, but I thought the system was more mature than that when I bought in.

Two Stars
Couldn't get these to link with controller. Outstanding technical support, though.

These work great
These work great. I have installed 10 of these over the past 5 years. Control lights without wires between the switches. Note that the electrical box you install it in must have both power and neutral within it. I say this because not all switches have the neutral in the box.Replace on standard switch with one of these and Install another anywhere there is power and neutral. Program them to work together and you have a 3- way switch arrangement. Each has an LED that lights when the load is off serving as a night-light. Or you can program it to be dim or off. When you tap the ToggleLinc on, the load ramps up slowly. Tap it off and the light ramps down slowly. Hold the button and the light dims.I had one of these die just after 2 years (the warrantee period).

Remote (and local) dimmer that works with LED downlights
I recently upgraded some downlights in my living room from incandescent to LED -- reducing a 250W circuit to 20W and providing whiter light at all dimming levels. Once I did this, my X-10 dimmer control for that circuit stopped working. It could turn the lights off (more or less -- it would leave them very dim but you could see they were still on in the dark), but to do anything else (even turn them on!) you needed to wire in at least one incandescent bulb.I spent a long time looking for a replacement that could integrate to my existing X-10 network and control devices, and specifically did not require that it be able to pass a current through the controlled circuit like X-10 dimmer controls demand. This device went beyond my original needs and hopes. It accepts X-10 commands (and the Insteon commands, but I don't have anything else that uses those yet) and supports full control over even light loads such as a single LED bulb (5W). It allows the lights to be controlled fully even from the switch itself -- not just off and on but dimming control as well. It has no problems providing full dimming range with the light load, and does not leave the lights in a sort of 'limbo' state where they are very very dim when it turns them off. The lights follow almost full dimming range (my LED bulbs won't dim below about 10%) and I do not get noise from the switch or flickering from the lights at any point from off to full on.

These guys work great, but I've had to replace a few due to product failure. Still, I'm a big Insteon fan.
