Over priced and poor quality
I bought this on the strength of all the 5 star reviews and had high expectations. However, it's certainly not lived up to the reviews, I'm not sure if they reviewed the same item! It's essentially a plastic cube, with a large PC fan that blows air through a damp filter (the filter soaks up water from the water tank). The pros (not many):- the fan is fairly powerful for a small unit- if you put icy water in the tank it does make the air slightly coolerThe cons:- made from cheap flimsy plastic- very, very noisy- spills water if not kept flat- poor instructions- too expensive for what it isTo be honest a large fan does just as good as this, don't be fooled like me thinking it's going to blast cold air! Ut's too noisy to use at night while trying to sleep, and only the most powerful fan setting is worth bothering with, the others are too weak.Disappointed, will be sending back!

Does the job short term but filters don't last
Fantastic out the box, cools well for a small unit but don't expect the quality of a larger or built-in unit like you'd get in offices. Lasts just over an hour in warmer weather, 2-3 hours at around 26 degrees.Bought in June, filter covered in black mold by late July even when running it until empty each use and allowing to dry open.Manufacturer says filters are washable but it feels like very flimsy absorbent paper so trying to remove stains and mold led to the entire inside disintegrating. On the manufacturer page, despite being washable they also say filters should be replaced every 2-3 months and cost £12.99 each - 1/3 the price of the unit itself. Assuming you need two per year to last the warmer months, plus the price of the unit, you're better off with a more expensive air conditioner that will last for years all-in and doesn't require fiddly, costly maintenance.Would benefit from a washable cloth filter or cheaper packs of paper filters, not whole plastic units.

A little refreshing on a dry weather
I got this because the heat starting to hit in the UK, I didn’t expect it to be a full on air conditioning but is good enough to have it on your desk while working, keeps you a little cooler better than not having it.It has an option to put oil to use it as diffuser which is handy. The light can be turned off it is something that you don’t like, it has UV light option if you want. The noise is a little less than a fan desk on a lot setting.Best result is to add some ice with a little water to keep the air cooler, don’t expect it to cool the whole room but yes directed to you.

cool air vs wind chill
Buy a decent fan. Waste of time. Good. But only if you are 5 inches away from it. Which is pointless when the idea be-hide this is to cool the air in the room. Unlike a fan which only gives you wind chill. But due to its size. It's pointless and you will get better results with a decent fan aimed at you. If used on table computer etc. Then again it's missing the point of cooling air. And a fan on the computer table would be no different

Check your filter for mould
I quite like this little unit and have been using it for an hour or so a day in my home office. However after a couple of weeks I noticed that the filter has many mould spots on it presumably from being damp all the time. I am able to remove the filter but it's impossible to clean in between the filter blades. I have emailed Hisome and asked for help and will update if I get a reply...

High pitch buzzing
The water tank is a little smaller than I had hoped and it realistically only lasts an hour on the highest setting before the water is gone, the room temperature of a small office doesn't drop by more than 1c even with freezer water. The positives are that it is quite small and pleasant when directed into personal space, however after a month of having this it has developed a high pitch buzz whenever it is turned on which unfortunately makes it quite unbearable to turn on. The build quality doesn't scream like this is worth the price you pay for it, it feels like a £10 cheap construction.

Best fan i have every bought.
This little cube is great for cooling 1-2 people but it won't act as an air conditioner for an entire room. You are basically cooling the air coming out of the front fan by freezing water in two removable tanks and soaking the inner filter that the air runs through. You need to freeze the tanks, only half filled and uncovered(open), upright in your freezer ahead of needing to use it. I've used this for the current end of August heatwave and the one in July. I've had it set up next to our bed at night and in the living room during the day. In both situations it's helped to bring the feeling of heat in the room down. I'm so glad I bought this as other alternatives had sold out and I'd figured that anything would be better than nothing

Cheap but does a pretty good job on a low energy budget
Takes the air temperature down by a few degrees, was really good in the recent hot and muggy weather. Bit noisy on the middle fan speed, but nice and quiet on the low setting, good in a bedroom overnight. The diffuser is really good for making the room smell nice.
