A little known subject covered
Did not know much on this subject prior to reading. After reading this book will leave a last impression on you with the fighting ablities that these formation did at holding the French army at bay. Even suffering heavy casualties the battle is will covered.

Wellington's Forgotten Allies
Along with the Belgian title, this Osprey title is a useful and informative summary of an often-overlooked contingent in the victorious army at Waterloo. As with the Belgian tile, Ducth uniformdetails can be hard to come by, so giving the contingent its own title is very worthwhile.

With text by Pawly and drawings by Courcelle, don't hesitate. Buy the book! These two contributors are breathing fresh insights into the Napoleonic vein.

Another great addition to the series
Another excellent addition to the series. I'm glad to see the differences between the Belgian and Dutch allies of the campaign, now made clearer.David Cook, author ofย Liberty or Death (The Soldier Chronicles Book 1) ย andย Heart of Oak (The Soldier Chronicles Book 2)Liberty or Death (The Soldier Chronicles Book 1)Heart of Oak (The Soldier Chronicles Book 2)

Not much use
This is not an especially helpful book. Infuriatingly, many uniforms plates replicate those available from other sources such as Haythornwaite. Unlike Haythornwaite it mentions the Orange-Nassau regiment very briefly and there is one illustration of a private, but no illustration or description of officers, drummers, NCO's, heaven forbid -the colour party. There was a long and tedious introduction regarding the emergence of the Netherlands forces in 1813 and 1814 and absolutely no mention of the regimental colours either carried or not carried in 1815. I think the policy in this book is to completely avoid mentioning issues which he is not sure of instead of stating his doubt and describing any available evidence. This left me rather in the dark regarding certain important information regarding painting and wargaming. On the whole I think if you have Haythornwaite's Uniforms of Waterloo, this won't add anything that you can't glean free of charge from the internet. Disappointing.
