Sentinel 5004 - Grade 1 Hydraulic Door Closer, Size 4 w/Back Check - Dark Bronze

I was looking for a door closer with back check to replace one installed on a door at an area that is sometimes windy.This fit the bill and the back check did just what I needed.No more problem with loosening hinges because wind caught door and swung it too far with force.

I am a contractor and installed this closer on a 3680 storefront door located in a breezeway. The door opened into prevalent wind from the west. It's been 8 mos. and no complaints. I bought it on Amazon cheaper than my commercial parts purveyor. He wanted a minimum purchase. I won't hesitate to buy another.

I have purchased Sentinel door closers before and have always been very satisfied with the construction and ease of adjustment (although the instructions could be clearer). I use them on the main front doors to my laundry business, so they get pretty hard use (not all of my customers are light-handed!), and they last well.

Sometimes very windy here, so we were concerned that accidentally slamming our heavy front door would damage the frame or side-lights. This hydraulic door closer was easy enough to install and works perfectly. Yes, the door is now a bit stiff to open (as expected), but it NEVER slams now, just closes itself gently.

Well-built, and works well, but only 4 Stars, because I had to drill 2 new holes to mount it.
