Review of Aloha Island Coffee DIAMOND Organic 100% Pure Kona Coffee, 8 Oz Ground, 8-ouncesWell packaged as this individual product was in a cellophane sealed cardboard box with the typical coffee bag wrapped in gold tissue paper.Product labeling did not include a Best By or roasting dates or even any code or lot number. Other than the front label which includes “blend” there is no information elsewhere on the package or included with the product.Additionally the ratio of coffee to water was not listed and this may vary with different blends, roasts, beans, etc. Having this information allows the consumer to start closer to the right amount that can be tweaked to suit one’s tastes. I eventually obtained some information which required conversion and calculation as many users will not make the volume listed in their information.My initial contact with the producer received a response within a few hours but the response only answered one of the two questions.Seems that this is a blend. I contacted the producer who decided not to respond to that specific issue other than to request my order number and their response included "When the product says that it is a Hawaiian Blend, it means that it is a mixture of Kona beans and Hawaiian tropical beans" but they also stated "All of our coffee products that state they are 100% Kona are indeed 100% Kona, meaning that only Kona beans are in that product package." This product is labeled to be a blend. One can visit the KonaCoffeeFarmers.org website to see a summary of the partial settlement of the class action lawsuit for this issue.After providing the order number the producer stopped responding with the question of whether or not this really is 100% Kona which leads me to the conclusion that this product is not 100% Kona because the label includes “blend.”Although the coffee was good the lack of customer support and possible or probable false advertising in the product name/title and description means that the rating is reduced.

Not the best Kona coffee I have had.

First, I'm not sure if this is a blend or a "Kona blend". The description says 100% Kona but the label on the bag says, "Custom Island Coffee Blend" so it's unclear to me what that actually means. Perhaps it's a blend of several Kona varietals? In any case, for my taste, the roast is too dark and the brewed coffee has a slight bitter finish, which defeats the purpose of Kona for me. If you like a deeper roast and a slight bitter finish, you will like this one, especially if you use cream and/or sugar in your brew (I don't). My purely subjective opinion is that it's not for me but your mileage may vary.

Taste was good and strong, but that’s not the reason I bought it. I bought it thinking it was 100% Kona as they stated on the product description in Amazon. However, when I received it, it says “blend” and 100% Kona is not mentioned anywhere on the product label. I feel that taste is significantly different than other 100% Kona coffee I have tried also. I will not purchase from Aloha Island again.

I tried another version of this brand's coffee that I did not like. I have been trying to find an alternative to a Hawaiian KONA no longer available - except, according to my cousin, in Hawaii since he purchased it recently. This is absolutely delicious and flavorful. Very satisfying! I've minimized my coffee intake and switched to predominantly green tea for a few years now but on vacation and occasionally other days when a bit of caffeine is required, in my opinion, this is a winner!
