Perfect Size and Quality - Saddleback Small Bifold Wallet -RFID in Coffee
Before purchasing this wallet 3 months ago in April 2017 I spent a lot of time reading various reviews and had a very difficult time choosing between the Saddleback small and medium bifolds. I also considered the smaller ID wallets too. The wallet it was replacing was a department store quality bifold wallet I purchased online. It had multiple pockets for cards but of course as you fill them up the thickness of the wallet increases. After a few years the black was showing brown underneath and I was looking for something a bit slimmer.I then purchased the Bellroy Low Down wallet. I returned it because the leather seemed a bit thin and photos of used wallets seemed to show a fair bit of stretching and wear and tear. Also it was just to small for what I wanted and I didn't like the shallow bill compartment.Next I purchased a slim front pocket wallet from HUSKK which I still have. Definitely a minimalist wallet but I got tired of wrapping my bills around credit cards to slide them in the center pocket. For me, the Saddleback Leather Small Bifold Wallet is not too small and not too big. It's only marginally thicker than the HUSKK when loaded with the same number of cards and less than a half inch bigger in width and length.I currently keep 8 credit cards in it one of which is a building entry pass (equal in thickness to 2 credit cards) which works without taking it out of the wallet which is supposed to have RFID shielding.Generally the credit cards are distributed half on each side but I can easily stack all 8 on just one side. The pockets are generous and I anticipate will stretch with use. I like the design in that the credit cards are kept secure. I would like the bill pocket to be slightly deeper say by an ⅛" to ¼" so the bills would be less noticeable. The outer cover is about 3/16" larger so bills generally are only visible when the wallet is open. It is a nice design and I am getting used to it.One of the reasons I purchased the Coffee Brown was the Saddleback website indicates that leather has a more pristine appearance which it definitely was when I received it. With time, it is getting marked up a bit presumably from being scraped by car keys etc. However the marks do seem to blend in over time and fussy though I may be, they do not bother me.Empty the wallet is quite thick due to the thickness of the leather, however even with my ¼" stack of credit cards inserted it is very manageable and fits nicely in my front pocket. I think I will be very happy with this purchase and it will give me many years of good service.

An amazing wallet if it suits your needs!
I bought this wallet for myself almost 2 years ago, and I'm pleased to say it shows no signs of quitting. When I first got this wallet, it was fairly stiff compared to what one would expect from a wallet. This is normal for Saddleback products, as over the course of time you "break in" your wallet and the leather softens. While the leather on mine is not quite as flexible as the inferior grade leather on most wallets sold nowadays, it has softened considerably. This does expand the amount of cash/cards you can fit into the wallet slightly, but bear in mind that the increased thickness of Saddleback wallets means they don't quite hold as much at the same size as other wallets. I put around 10 cards or so in mine, 5 on each side, quite easily, and that is typically suitable for my daily needs. I put cards that I may need but do not typically use in another Saddleback wallet (the ID one) which gives me the choice of bringing that in another pocket or coat pocket on the rare occasion I need one of those. The aforementioned thickness is not unreasonable. It's about the perfect size for me to put in my front pocket, though that pocket won't be holding much of anything else. It's the first bifold wallet I've kept for more than around a year. Unlike my previous wallets, which would fray at the seams and fall apart, this wallet is sturdily built and shows no signs of wear and tear.Over the years I have used it, it has gathered a few scrapes and nicks, though I think of that as part of the charm. It is my wallet and mine alone. If you're looking for a wallet that is not too big and can hold a few cards, this wallet is perfect. It is worth the price for the durability and style. If you like a small wallet that can hold tons of cards and cash, look somewhere else.

If you're a minimalist but NEED cash.
I hated carrying a wallet. It was something that would get left in my truck as I took my debit card and some cash out when I was a teenager. Not much changed in college either until I was given my first Fossil minimalist wallet. The wallet itself was garbage. I think it lasted a year before it fell apart but it made me realize that I could carry my cards without the need for all that extra bulk. Carrying it front pocket was somewhat enjoyable as well. Fast forward several years later and I'm carrying some of the best US made minimalist wallets available but I have kids and i need cash regularly. I hate folding the bills multiple times - I don't even like them folded once as everyone sees your wad of cash as you go through it to find the bill that you need. I tried a money clip in companion with a minimalist wallet and it just didn't work. I'd forget it or it dug into my leg when I did carry it. I came across this wallet and was intrigued. I had owned Saddleback before and it was good stuff but I knew that their designs are sometimes thicker. After some youtube research I decided to give this wallet a try. So far I find that it's perfect. In jeans I front pocket it but in khakis/dress pants I back pocket it. I did this with minimalist wallets as well. My cash goes in no problem folded once and my cards are easy to access via the card slots. It has everything I need and nothing I don't. The perfect wallet for a minimalist who also happens to be a dad.
