This product is usable, but best suited for a very dry climate in a place where there is no wind. First Problem: The arm section is not stiff enough in torsion (twisting mode), so any wind more than a few knots will cause the enclosure and camera to vibrate. This is a huge problem for motion detection, because the shaking keeps the motion detection triggered continuously whenever there is a noticeable breeze. And the picture bounces around dramatically if the wind gets above about 10 knots. Second, the clasp at the rear of the case is made of cheap steel with thin chrome plating, so the metal clasp starts rusting in a matter of a week once exposed to the elements. If the clasp had been made from stainless steel, this would not be happening. Too bad about these quality issues, because they could have been fixed in the design without adding significant cost to the product.

Almost perfect. Wish it was slightly bigger to fit my amcrest lpr camera. I remove the front and backplates to fit my camera as well as not wanting IR reflectance. The mounting rail is kind of useless. I drilled a few extra holes in the bottom and looped a bunch of heavy duty 18 inch zip ties to secure the camera. Butyl taped the lid back down. Minus 1 because the mounting arm is slightly cheap. I put a crack in a screw hole while barely torquing it down with a grk fastener. I'm also noticing the setup is bobbing a bit in the wind, which may necessitate its replacement for something sturdier if it exists. The adjustment screws could be a bit better. Trying to make slight tilt adjustments is tricky. Pan is a bit easier because it's slotted. I am thankful for the hex socket adjustment screws. Makes it easier when standing on a ladder making 1 hand adjustments. I'm a little nervous the arm could just snap, I should really attach a steel security chain. Or it should perhaps come with one. This will work well for 90% of people. My camera is quite heavy.

Transaction perfect and item as described.

Works like its supposed too for the most part. Good material. Only problem is if your camera has night vision the red lights reflect on the glass and block out any picture. I just took off the glass and it worked perfect

Makes a great Faux (dummy) Camera Housing. Years ago, I purchased two of this product as a complete Faux Camera Package, which came with everything you see, plus the front end of a camera that set inside mounted on the rails provided. I have two big entry gates, which I use faux cameras for theft deterrent. In Hawaii with all the rain, the white paint starts to peel away from the aluminum housing and mounting bracket, which began looking kind of ratty. So I bought two more of this product, but I couldn't find any with the front end faux camera inside. So I used the front end faux cameras from my old units and mounted them inside my new units. This works fabulous as a faux camera setup, because it's a real camera housing. The front end faux camera is great in case someone does a close-up inspection. To complete the faux camera look, I added a black video camera cable and secured it inside with zip ties and sealed it with silicone. The other end of the cable, I installed behind the wall mount bracket, pinching it for a secure cable. I also added a pad lock to keep someone from opening up the camera housing.
