Knives RanchDamascus EDC Fixed Blade Knife - Bone Handle, Horizontal Carry Cowboy Sheath, Survival & Skinning Knife (2085-B)

This is a beautiful, very well made knife. It is also a little knife: I would call it a caping-sized knife, not an all around skinning knife. Blade is exactly 3" and so is the handle at 3", which for my medium-sized hands leaves nothing for the little finger to grasp. Such a 3-fingered grip is OK for caping or other light duty. It is exactly as described for this knife.I also own their slightly larger, finger-grooved style skinning knife, at 4" handle and 3.5" blade. This little caping knife is an ideal companion to the larger skinning knife (caper at top, skinner is lower knife in photo.)The sheath for this little knife is configured for horizontal-belt carry (only) and is of double-stitched, heavy-duty leather. It holds the knife perfectly fine, you just have to push the blade with a little bit of force so the choil slips past the narrowing at the rivet at the sheath opening. Do that and it is VERY snugly held, taking a bit of effort to draw the knife (attach a thong for an assist with the draw.) The knife is held very securely for active outdoor use.Blade is true Damascus steel, hi- low- carbon in a Ladder-type pattern of well over 200 layers, nice laser-etched Knives Ranch logo on one side. After a few smaller jobs, including carving on some aged white oak, no need for even a touch up yet with zero reduction in sharpness (knife came acceptably sharp out-of-the-box.)Opted for the stabilized bone handle which is nicely done with no open pores. Handle includes two-color slab pins, pretty rosewood liners, brass thong-hole. Overall a very well-made, beautiful little knife made with high-quality materials, perfect for smaller tasks.

I really like the knife but the sheath is junk. Will not hold the knife . Keeps falling out.

Great awesome knife I use this knife a lot for day to day ranchin have it on my belt at all times. It’s a great size and comes very sharp out of the box also got here super fast. Strongly recommend to any cowboy not wanting to pay close to 200 for a knife. This knife looks just as great and works just as well.
