Debugging Embedded and Real-Time Systems: The Art, Science, Technology, and Tools of Real-Time System Debugging
G**T
Dissapointing
The best part of this book are some of the sources cited. Particularly Jack Ganssle's books, "Troubleshooting Analog Circuits" by Bob Pease, and David Agans book "Debugging...". The rest is mostly "war stories" of little use intermingled with extremely basic information that will be old hat to anyone with a passing exposure to embedded systems. (If you don't know what a logic analyzer is, this book might be for you! On the other hand, if you need to learn how to use one, you'll be better served by the manual.) The closest this manual comes to living up to the title is in the first chapter where a rigorous approach (heavily reminiscent of Agans') is proposed - but Agans procedure is better. While more narrowly scoped "Hands on RTOS with Microcontrollers" better covers debugging real-time systems.

Good book but not worth the high price.
Its certainly full of great experiences and nuggets of info, but it is not worth such a high price.
