I thought they were hooey.
Compression socks were recommended to me by my mother, who heard from my sister, who is just so smart and blah blah blah...Yeah, whatever Mom. Thanks. I've been standing on concrete for four and a half years now. I think I know all the tricks.Well ain't I a doofus. These things work! Now, they're not some kind of pain vanquishing sorcery and they certainly won't stop your spouse from nagging or the dog from barking but if you feel like you could benefit from just a smidge more relief from the discomfort of gravity, work, hard surfaces and aging, then buying compression socks is exactly the nerdy, overly sensible and totally uncool advice I'm gonna give you. Because you're worth it.

I work 12 hour shifts
***I wanted to wait to review this product more accurately***Here is some info about me: I am constantly on my feet at work, I work at a Hospital and our shifts are 12 hour days. On average I take 18k steps in a single shift. The constant abuse my feet take is massive but I guess I got useto it which is why I didn’t really feel it until coming back to work from maternity leave earlier this year. My first few shifts back were brutal, my feet would swell, and I started to see a vein on the top of my feet become more pronounced. (Which was odd and it was only really noticeable on work days) my feet would constantly ache, I’d try to limit my walking towards the end of the shift. I knew I was getting older (not old, just older) and my body wouldn’t tolerate the abuse for much longer so I started to look into compression socks to help with blood flow and to minimize the risk of varicose veins (I mean really who wants spider veins?!) i have thicker feet than most (size 5.5 extra wide, 6 wide or a 6.5-7 in regular width shoes) so finding appropriate anything for my feet can be a challenge but at the price of this product I said what the heck I’ll try it!**The product itself came individually packaged (one pair in a small plastic bag) which was shipped in a bigger plastic bag to hold all five pairs. Not really protected, not not really needing to be protected. I purchased the S/M size (according to the size chart) thinking that I’d take the risk of them rolling down my leg (again I have thick legs. I am a 200lbs+ woman after all). Not only did the socks not have a odor (sometimes products smell like chemicals or plastic to me) but they seemed to be snug. When I put them on I was pleasantly surprised that they were snug on my feet but not as uncomfortable/confining as T.E.D. hose/stockings are. I was nervous about them actually helping but I went to work with them. Not only did I forget I had compression socks on but I felt like they helped with my feet not aching as much. There was less discomfort because they were tight enough that my feet didn’t swell. When I came home I took off my shoes and was surprised that when I took off my socks they were not itchy (they normally are after work because of how tight my shoes would fit after 12 hours of wearing them. There were no “angry looking veins” on the top of my feet, in fact they weren’t swollen at all. Would I purchase this product again? Yes! Would I recommend them to others? Yes. After a few weeks or use and a few washes I much say that I am still pleased with this product. It has been great to not have to worry about my feet swelling.Bottom Line:These socks are more affordable Than most on amazon (that I saw) you get more for your money. I didn’t need the colorful socks so I opted to get the black only pairs. I bought the size recommended by seller and it fit as expected. I understand these might not work for everyone but you are worth the chance.. buy the pairs. They may work wonders for you as they have done for me!

Perfect
I love these socks. I bought these to keep me warm in the winter and also to help circulation since my job requires a lot of sitting ( I am a 911 dispatcher ) they are not too tight but just right and they wash very nice they didn’t shrink or ball up

Great Price for Five Pair of (Probably Not) Compression Socks
These socks are an incredibly good buy. One can’t beat the price. A pair of black designer knee highs could easily cost as much as five pairs of these. So, they are economical. As for fit, I am a woman who takes a 5.5-6 size shoe, and I found the feet in these socks to be too big for me (I ordered the women’s S/M.) The leg part fit okay. They were quite easy to put on (true compression socks are not), but I did notice that they did give some support in the calf area which is good. I was hoping for some compression action around the toes, but the socks were rather loose in that area, so no help there. Overall, not true compression socks, but a good deal for something we’ll call “support socks.”

They are comfortable enough to wear all day without making me too ...
I am on my feet 12 hours a day as a physician and I got these in my second trimester. They are comfortable enough to wear all day without making me too hot. I didn't wear them one day and came home with swollen feet so I know they work! They have held up after >10 washings.

Buy them
For the past decade my wife and doctor have been ragging on me to wear some sort of compression stockings, but those I've scene were the nasty looking white ones that keep rolling down. I've had to wear them several times post surgery, but threw them out as soon as I got home. Your socks are stylish, easy to get on and off and I'll probably get a few more pair.

Plenty Snug if You're Looking for Compression
These socks are plenty snug. One reviewer said that he didn't think the socks were true compression socks. Maybe they are not, but if they were any tighter, I'd have to throw them out. I helped my 80-lb mother get them on because they're snug and she was having some difficulty with them (she's 96). She thinks they feel great on her skinny legs and loves them. I weigh 40 some pounds more than her, and I have a tendency to roll them down off my calves. They are slightly too tight for me, but I can choose to roll them where I find them comfortable. They appear to be nicely made as well. I actually think I'd like a bigger size, but it's hard to tell without trying them out.
