Shea butter soap is always amazing. I've posted about a few different soaps. I'm not sure how my parents liked it. Theirs was discontinued. I know if I got this, I'd be happy.

Smells good and it works good on your hair.

I was worried that this soap may smell too strong but I was pleasantly surprised. It smells nice, makes a great lather, and leaves your skin feeling soft. The best part of all is I can use this soap and be happy that I made a very small contribution to saving the orangutans and other animals and creatures of the rainforests of Asia. I highly recommend this soap and the moisturizing lotion from the same company.

The soft aroma was wonderfully inviting, similar to the scent of being in a spa. I chose the argan & sandalwood shea butter because it sounded interesting to me.When opened, the packaging was simple. Exactly the same on the amazon website pictures. The sent of the sandwood was stronger than the argan, but they both make a great scent pair and the size of the bar was thick. I like that. After using it the first time, the moisturizing bath soap left a silky soft feeling on my skin. The scent stayed on longer than most soaps. My family gave me a compliment due to the nice aroma on my body.The next day I sued the soap on my legs to shave and they gave me a result of a smooth feeling. almost better then product Nair, except without the bad after smell. On the contrary the scent of argan and sandwood really made a difference.I have been using it since and I like this product. I would recommend the Peet Bros. Shea Butter to men and women. I am excited to try the other products.

I haven't used bar soap in forever. The occasional hotel stay is the only exception. This soap wasn't any different than I can remember except that it's huge, pricey and the scent was not my favorite. When I opened the package it was all I could smell. Other reviews say it's coconut but I thought coconut smelled good. This was not good. It didn't completely repulse me but I wouldn't ever buy anything that smelled like this.I tried the soap, mostly washing hands but also showered with it several days. It leaves that squeaky-clean feeling like most soap does. I don't like that feeling at all. I still wanted to use it over a few days to get a good understanding about how I feel about it. End result I don't like this soap. It doesn't seem to moisturize my skin. Not even a tiny bit. If I put lotion on after, I feel fine but if I don't I feel the tightness in my skin which I do not enjoy. I will not let this pricey bar of soap go to waste, I will use it to wash hands but I won't bathe with it again.If you buy it, I hope you get better results.

This Peet Bros. Shea Butter Bar in the scent Coconut Vanilla is my new favorite. The bar really moisturizes your skin and the coconut vanilla is a combination of tropical coconut and sweet vanilla. My skin feels very hydrated, clean and soft after taking a shower with this bar. The bar is easy to use and lathers very well. I just love the intense scent. It is really soothing. I love that the soap is made with shea butter, coconut oil and natural ingredients. The bar does not have artificial fragrances or colors, is paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, vegan and cruelty-free. I really recommend this bar.

I used it to shave my legs (got the idea from the box!) & it worked really well for this. The lather is not overly bubbly, but it's nice & creamy so that you have a nice barrier when shaving. The smell is not overly coconut or vanilla, just a nice hint of those scents for a great summer product! It gets VERY slippery in the shower, as I expected when using a bar soap while showering, so it's hard to handle while shaving & then storing after use. But those are issues I'm willing to work with since I loved the product so much!

First, keep in mind 'unscented' does not mean 'without scent.' 'Unscented' means they did not ADD any scent. To quote one website, "Pure unrefined shea butter has an earthy, nutty, smoky scent that ranges from mild to strong and can be quite pungent."I was extremely pleased with the Peet Bros. product I had been purchasing retail. The formulation as described on the box is simply & positively amazing as compared to most other bar soaps … that rely upon either palm oil or tallow (animal fat) as the primary ingredient. And that retail product did indeed have that potent nutty/earthy natural scent. And they were 'café au lait' in color.BUT NOT THESE BARS (being fulfilled by Amazon for Peet Bros.). They have a very very faint scent, not at all like that retail product had … and the color is almost white. These differences would be well explained if they changed the formulation from using RAW shea butter to using REFINED shea butter. And, if so, it was probably done to (either delete the scent or) increase shelf life; shea butter does age and can even turn rancid given enough time. Raw shea butter has a shelf-life of maybe two years; refined shea butter maybe one additional year beyond that. Refined shea butter still has moisturizing properties, but the refining causes not only the loss of color and scent … but the HEAT from refining also destroys the other bioactive nutrients within raw shea butter (such as antioxidant Vitamins A & E).Accordingly I CANNOT recommend the Peet Bros. product that Amazon is currently shipping. Btw, Amazon will not accept returns on this product.I also ordered some of the same product directly from Peet Bros, hoping to catch the original product quality. Unfortunately they were exactly the same as the Amazon bars. They even had the same lot number.And you may just want to shop around for a new/substitute product anyway …… as it appears that Peet Bros. is winding-down as a company. The approximately two dozen or so retail vendors I found that had been carrying Peet Bros. soap have ALL discontinued it. Again, the only current sources I could find were here at Amazon and direct from Peet Bros. I also discovered that the CEO of Peet Bros, who founded the company in mid-2019, basically left the company in mid-2022 to take a job with one of the big accounting firms. And he WAS the company, just him and a few assistants doing the marketing and inventory planning and such out of leased office space in Minneapolis. The actual manufacturing of the Peet Bros. soap was/is done by a large established soap-maker, Vanguard Soap in Memphis. And all the warehousing and distribution was/is done by Vanguard's partner Valley Distribution, also in Memphis. The soap I ordered 'direct from Peet Bros.' shipped from Memphis .. and the Peet Bros. address stated on the packing slip was actually the address for Valley Distribution.Taking all that in total, it could well be that Vanguard & Valley are just 'burning off' the last of the existing Peet Bros. inventory (made with refined shea butter) after which there will be no more product at all. Time will tell, I suppose.UPDATE: Having not yet found a replacement soap bar product, I ordered (from Amazon) yet another bar of this, about 6 weeks after the others from here on Amazon & also from Peet Bros. Direct. This one also was nearly white. It had a different lot number. And the scent was even MORE off than the Peet Bros Direct & earlier Amazon bars were, almost a BAD smell. I like the way the product moisturizes and cleanses, but with this much overall variability in the product, and perhaps the product going disco soon, I've just GOT to get busy finding something else! If only they had left the formulation the way it was in the beginning...
