They don't make movies as good as this anymore
The Blu-ray dvd arrived on time. A cover sleeve over the case was nice. The picture quality of the movie was more than good, hard to beleive that the movie was that old.The movie itself was fantastic. Sad, funny and for some reason I cannot quite understand, very scary and a little depressing. In fact because of this I had to turn it off and go back to it during the afternoon when the light of day made my own melancholy memorias which were similar to this ( I hasten to add not the sex part, Ive never had any problems with that) more palatable.A movie we should all see to remind us of what it was like in the old days, before the era of sex drugs and rock and roll of the 70's took over.

As great as I remember, if you like the stars, very enjoyable.

Fantastic film blast from the past !
They don’t make films like this anymore and it’s so lovely to watch again. They were all so natural to that era and to see Sir John Mills and his daughter acting together is so lovely. As for Hewell Bennett I didn’t realise what a handsome man he was the most beautiful eyes and their acting skills back then were excellent. Even now they knock spots off the actors of today .

The Perfect Picture
On screen Hywel Bennett and Hayley Mills are so good together and having previously seen them together in the haunting Endless Night I thought I'd back track and watch one of their earlier movies.Roy Boulting's 1966 British comedy-drama The Family Way which is based on Bill Naughton's play All in Good Time (1963) ,the movie features the marital difficulties of a young sensitive newlywed couple Arthur(Bennett) and Jenny(Mills) who fail to consummate their marriage while living in a crowded house with the husband's working class family, with supporting cast including John Mills Hayley Mills real life father who plays Arthur's old man and Barry Foster this is a perfect slice of fried British kitchen sink drama.Studio Canal have worked wonders with the print, beautiful definition in full colour despite the back of the Blu-ray stating the movie is in b&w.I recommend this movie, delivery was fast and reliable by Amazon.

GOOD TRANSFER
This is what's called "a kitchen sink" movie and it's very good. It would have been even better if the focus had been on the newlyweds. Instead, it's John Mill's picture. As this was an effort to show that Hayley had grown up, she appears naked from behind, in what can only be called a gratuitous moment. And I loved it.

This overlooked charmer finally makes it to blu-ray
"The Family Way" is a rare gem that has always been one of my favourite films. It's a simple and gentle tale of young newly-weds, beautifully told with great sensitivity and sincerity, that can't fail to bring a lump to the throat. The acting is superb, especially by the young man's family- Marjorie Rhodes and John Mills. The film score by Paul McCartney is perfect.

This dvd is from England. Not all USA DVD players will work for this dvd.
My DVD player won’t work with this dvd. I found this out after I order it and was hoping my blue ray DVD player would work. I am on the lookout which DVD player will work and see if can buy it in USA. The dvd is from England.

This Film is a Real Gem
I am so glad that Paul McCartney composed the score for this film, otherwise I would have never seen it. It is a wonderful romantic slice-of-life from the Big-60s. If you don't have a multi-region DVD player, buy one!
