VERY Well written! My favorite Marilyn related book, hands down.
I purchased this book 15 years ago, and it's left such an impression on me. I'm a huge Marilyn fan, and this book not only shows/tells about house, it offers an amazing and intimate view into her life at that time. Because of the recent events surrounding the future of her home, I've decided to read it again. If you're a Marilyn fan, you need to get this book!

Written with heart!
A refreshing heartfelt book finally!!!! About Marilyns final months, The author should be commended on how he viewed and handeled this He obviously loved her and it shows! The photos ar how largee terrific, the information on how she chose the items she wanted in her home, what she felt, how she wanted it to be is amazing and really what every Marilyn lover wanted to know.I loved the fact he included what happened to the house and the owners now and right after her death, I was there in 1991 and stood on the hood of my friends car to get a glimpse over the canvas gate at that time, however i only photographed the part of the house i could see, I had no idea it was larger than what i saw.. I was thrilled to see what i could , but i now understand.....it was much larger, Thanks to the author for giving me a then and now glimpse and for really taking care of Marilyn in the process, Great job!

Lovingly Told
I have been reading about Marilyn Monroe since I was 12 years old, way back in 1978, and this book is a perfect companion piece to any Marilyn fan. For once there is no harping on the Kennedy connection - not that I mind books that do this - it's just that this book doesn't go down the familiar conspiracy route. Instead it is full of loving anecdotes from the people surrounding Marilyn in the last months of her life. There are also little, perhaps unknown, details that emerge, like the fate of Maf-Honey after Marilyn's death as well as truely touching mentions of Joe DiMaggio and Joe Junior's deep love for Marilyn that brought tears to my eyes. The details of Marilyn's house are well researched and presented and include many illustrations and photos of artworks and furniture that Marilyn purchased in the last months of her life. I just so wish things had ended better for her; that she could have enjoyed some peace and serenity in her modest bungalow.

Worth your time.
This delightful book is a refreshing look at a magnificent women who means so much to so many. It is a loving tribute that should make the author feel that he has created something which Marilyn would have approved of.His book "Icon: Volume 1" is well worth your time also. Can't wait for Volume 2! Thank you Mr. Vitacco-Robles.Sincerely,L. LittellUtah

A new respect for Marilyn
What price fame?I have been reading several books regarding Marilyn's tragic ending but this one has a different look and feel. This book gives the reader a peek at her actual home. It was very interesting to see inside her private world. I would like to believe that her home was a place of solitude and she certainly had a decorating flair. You would have thought her bedroom would have been more elaborate but she was never paid the 'big bucks' she was worth and we all know enhancements cost money. From everything I've read - I don't think she entertained much but the home was certainly inviting. From all indications she was planning new things for her garden and additional upgrades. These are not the types of things a person would be moving towards if they wanted to take their life? There are so many unanswered questions...But alas I am a believer and I am hoping that Marilyn is enjoying her new mansion in heaven - God would have taken her in - she was such a lost soul here.We must thank the author for his extensive research and bringing a new perspective to the Marilyn story.

Unique MM Bio
This book contains everything Marilyn's fans want to know about her last months renovating the house where she died and includes stunning digital photos of the interior and actual photos of her furnishing, art, and household items. It is written affectionately and without sensationalism. If you're not a Monroe fan, you'll learn about her remarkable life told within the context of laying down roots in Los Angeles. A recent court case ruled that her primary residence, however, was her apartment in Manhattan.I attended the author's book signing in August 2012 at the 50th Anniversary Memorial for Marilyn Monroe but didn't get the book until now. He is currently in the process of publishing "Icon: The Life, Times, and Films of Marilyn Monroe" which will be an epic biography in two volumes.

Reader & collector of MM memorabilia~
Found this book to be very interesting as it speaks Marilyn's personal taste in decor and the pride she had for her very first home. For anyone that has ever purchased their first home, even if you live in it forever or eventually move for whatever reason, there is always a special pride in that first home, at least in my experience. I did find it a little sad and prophetic that the name MM chose for her home was Cursum Perficio which translates to "The Journey Ends Here." Read the book; you won't be disappointed. :)

PARA AMANTES DE LA INTIMIDAD DE MARILYN
Está en inglés, pero es un gran y minucioso trabajo de la última casa (y única en propiedad) de esta mujer tan especial.
