Sweet and exciting
This story really moved. It pulled me in and kept me there. There were times I was annoyed with the characters miscommunicating, but I wasn't sure how they'd ever work it out and in the end I was really satisfied.I read this completely out of order, but it didn't matter, it holds its own.

A wonderful romance that shows how different people deal with grief
This is a great book. It is a love story but also portrays a person dealing with grief and coming to terms with learning how to live and love again. I liked the characters and the humor and snappy dialogue prevented the book from becoming too grim. This is the 2nd book of a duology and I liked that the characters from the first novel played key roles in this book. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone that likes contemporary romances.

I am addicted to Abby Jimenez!
Just read this book, in fact if Abby writes it make it a part of your life. Per usual for me, I start almost every book by Abby in audio format, we are all busy, audio is key for me. But then with these books, I find myself grabbing the actual book to read when I can’t listen. I just have to know how it’s going to end!Sloane and Jason have the best possible meet cute and Jason isn’t even there for it! Their relationship it definitely a practice in patience, vulnerability, and acceptance. It’s a beautifully told story that you are not going to be able to put down.At this point this is my 5th book of Abby’s and I only have one more to go! I just love how she tells a story, she writes real people, with real issues that you can connect with. And that’s what I find myself doing everytime I read her books.

Gripping in the best way
As I sit here wiping tears from my eyes, I can honestly say this is the best book I’ve read in years. Heartbreaking at times, and intensely satisfying most of the other times. Abby Jimenez is an incredible storyteller and I can’t wait to bury myself in her other series’!

Raw depiction of recovering from grief
I loved this book so much that I finished it in less than 24 hours - work be damned. The audiobook was exquisite. It was cheeky but emotional and elevated the book. The portrayal of dealing with grief pulled at my heartstrings. It is a quick rom-com read but I am kind of sad that I finished it so quickly because I would have liked to savor it a bit more.

Back half sours otherwise phenomenal read
Not sure how I restrained myself from throwing my Kindle against the wall, because this book is gut-wrenchingly FRUSTRATING. I say that with both love and disappointment. Love, because the first half is pure magic, light and gooey rom com goodness that will warm your heart. Disappointment, because the second half takes that fragile relationship and smashes it to pieces. It’s a love story in two parts – one of which I never wanted to end, and the other I just wanted to be done with.If you’ve read Jimenez’s debut, The Friend Zone (not required reading for this but helpful), you already know how divisive her writing can be. I’m not sure that anyone questions the quality of her writing – the first half of this book is one of the best things I’ve read this year – but the tonal shift is jarring and, frankly, unnecessary. These two already have enough hurdles in their path to happiness; it didn’t need to devolve into such a hot mess. While the back half certainly elicited an emotional response from me, I cannot say that I am at all happy with the way things played out.If you want storyline details, you can look elsewhere. I will say that this is half rom com, with an adorably original meet cute, fantastic banter, chemistry that sparks off the page, and a hero who will melt your heart. I didn’t even mind the insta-love connection; I just wanted more, more of Sloan and Jason. He is such a loving, understanding, marshmallow of a man that I loved him right away… which made the second half that much more devastating. All I’ll say about the back half is that it focuses on the perils of being a rock star and the strain it puts on a relationship. I didn’t love the people either Sloan or Jason became by the end, and my heart hurt for what they once had.Ultimately, if you loved The Friend Zone (which the vast majority of people did), then I don’t see any reason why you won’t love this. For me, the two books are equally frustrating reads. I would’ve rated each of Jimenez’s books as 5 stars without hesitation if the back halves hadn’t obliterated the relationships I had come to love. I so appreciated receiving an ARC via NetGalley since I was eagerly anticipating this release (and am voluntarily leaving a review), but I’m left with a lot of conflicting thoughts on this one. While I love Jimenez’s writing, I don’t love the beatings her couples have to take in order to find their happy ever after.

My Favorite AJ Book
I thought this book was the best so far from this author because all of the characters were flawed but likable and the plot pulls you in from the beginning because it’s interesting and doesn’t drag. Kristen was way funnier in this story than the Friend Zone because her quick witted sometimes raunchy lines were perfect and it added a lot of humor to the story at the right times. The ending and epilogue’s drama filled but heartwarming and romantic. A Must Read!

even better than book one
Abby has a gift for character creation. Really fun romance novels but what makes them is the character development. Sloan’s eye twitch and Kristen’s sense of humor.

this book was such an emotional read
I loved this book, in fact I love the whole series. The fact that the characters continue in each book is nice; it bring familiarity to the reader. I enjoy the story lines they are well written and connect to the characters. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys easy reads, chick lit and romance. It’s everything combined.
