Sustee Aquameter, Set of 4, Plant Soil Moisture Sensor, (Green, Small)

I really like these. They do eventually wear out after a year or so, but I don't mind re-purchasing them for some of my more tempermental plants. Also useful if I'm getting a plant used to a new soil mixture.

I put one of these in each plant of its watering type. I only had four so I have to be frugal with use. My "types" are cactus/succulent, heavy water, less water, and flowering. When each one dries up I know to water the others of that type. This is the first time in my life I have not only been able to keep indoor plants alive but such a wide variety of indoor plants alive. And in winter, no less! When they go outside come spring I'm looking forward to seeing how their water needs change when sitting in the elements on my porch.

Ok unless you have large deep flower pots.

We've never had indoor plants because we always forget to water them and they die. I gave these a try and its really easy to keep an eye on our snake plant on the table.

I loved these things at first, but I found after only 2 months that the cores were starting to rot & stick out the top of the meter stick. I can't afford to replace the cores every 2 months, unfortunately.

Not worth the money. I lost a prayer plant because the thing was showing blue for 5 days. So here I was thinking the soil was holding the moisture and didn't need watering. Nope, the soil had dried out completely but was reading it was moist. I walked around and checked all the other pots and sure enough, they stop working in a few months. Don't trust them.
