For basic no frills use
I purchased this for once or twice a week work-related video conference calls which, in my world, doesn't require top quality video. Most of my colleagues use their built-in laptop cameras and this is basically the same quality. I have a few large monitors and my laptop is in a docking station at the end of my desk which is why I needed an external webcam. For less than $20 I figured I couldn't go wrong. I'm technical and knew going in what I was buying and what quality to expect. I'm sure most people can tell by the price, but if you want very high quality video or if you upload videos for youtube, this is definitely not the camera to buy. The picture is acceptable, it adjusts for different lighting conditions pretty well and at only 2-1/2" wide is not obtrusive. It has a built-in LED that I immediately turned off using a switch on the back. It was bright and massively distracting - I don't know who would ever want it on. It's plug and play and no setup tool or utility is needed. Overall, it's an adequate camera for very basic use. I'd buy it again only for limited uses such as mine and not wanting to spend $60+ on a better one that I don't need. When I purchased it, the price was $19.99 and in my opinion it's not worth any more. I noticed the price is now $29.00 - I'd shop for a better camera for a few bucks more. UPDATE: While it met the needs I mentioned above, I ended up giving it away and replacing it with a slightly better model only for one reason...It's focal length was too close and instead of a wide view it gave an up- close, in-your-face head-shot view which I felt uncomfortable about. I have a wall in front of my desk and couldn't move it further away.NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, inexperience or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

No Frills
It’s a basic webcam. No frills but it does the job. My computer is older and it does not have a built in camera so this little nugget works just fine. It also has a microphone.

Mixed feelings
Pros: small, simple, on/off switch in back, quality of audio and ability to angle or direct accordingly are pretty good.Cons: can only use clipped horizontally to top of computer/laptop; no way to clip vertically - but that could be true of all clip on webcams - just don't know about that.Quality of video is my biggest squawk but I have not downloaded extra bells and whistles - just downloaded basic software for plug and play, as they say. In any event, video is not crisp, as I look blurry and fuzzy but it could be also related the fact that I have older tech (Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 computer/laptop). However, that said, since I just Zoom socially, it is no big deal given the $20 for product.

Advertised as compatible with windows 10
Upon plunging it in, my computer immediately set up a notice that this item IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 10 and should be removed. It messed up my mouse. Items should not be advertised as compatible if they obviously aren't. Amazon should not have these products in their inventory!Extremely disappointed more so in Amazon then the obvious ripoff company that sold it!

Failed After Nine Months
The camera worked fine using the Microsoft USB Camera Driver v 10.0.19041.488 built into Windows 10, but the image became permanently scrambled due to a hardware failure after 9 months, which represented only about 20 hours of actual use. As another reviewer mentioned, the clamp has little spring -- it works okay along the top of a flat screen monitor, but won't grip along any side of the monitor. Opening the clamp allows it to work as a stand for positioning the camera on a horizontal surface. The bright LED that users complain about can be easily turned off in a well-lit room via a slide switch on the back. I'm replacing my failed unit with a higher resolution camera, because 0.3 Megapixels is pretty low res.
