Don't Skimp With Cheap Imitations!
Have skimped (been cheap) in the past and regretted it. This was easy to install and works like the original (no leakage and lid sits clean)!

Great fit, easy installation
Easy to install and has helped my maintain temperature much better on my Joe. This OEM gasket is much softer than some of the aftermarket types, and probably doesn't last quite as long as they would, but that's why it's a 4 minute install job versus probably an hour (during which you'd have to put dozens of slits in both sides of the new gasket to get it to make a circle). For me it's a good tradeoff - not to mention the solid black color and perfect width look a lot better than the narrower, gray color of the aftermarket gaskets.

Works well you’ll need to for the big Joe. If they would’ve stated that I would’ve given them five stars.

Easy install
Took 5 minutes to install, plenty left over. Make sure you clean the surface after scraping old gaskets off.

Fit akorn grill grate level and ash pan
Amount of felt fit lower level top of Akorn grill and lower ash pan area. Really seals air gaps helping keep more consistent tempatures.

OE gasket replacement
Be sure to scrape off the remnants of your old gasket when applying this. I wasn't as detail oriented when I replaced mine about 2 years ago and it ended up losing adhesion after a super hot cook to sear steaks.Took a small pain scraper to the top and bottom lip of my KJ classic before applying this time and it appears to have applied significantly better. A couple of hot cooks in and I don't see any pieces coming loose or anything. This is an OE gasket for the classic 1 and I personally prefer the felt over the newer gasket style... Which seems to work better with newer KJs that have a locking latch.

Excellent OEM KJ gasket. Take you time preparing the surface.
Just installed a new gasket on my KJ Classic and it was a breeze. So you have to work at removing the old gasket and adhesive. Used a flat sharp putty knife, then acetone to soften the old adhesive. Scrape it down to the original ceramic, wipe again with acetone or rubbing alcohol. Adhered perfectly. Not sure why others had an issue. Quality felt. Prior to starting take everything out of the firebox. When done clean up, put charcoal back in, start the charcoal and get up to 350. With the lid closed close all vents and let the fire die down and keep lid closed for at least 12 hours. Walla. Perfect. Take your time in the prep for the new gasket and you’ll be delighted with the outcome. Good OEM gasket from Kamado Joe.

It'll melt if your not careful
It's very pretty - HOWEVER - best follow the instructions to the letter - DO NOT let the red outer cooling shroud to come close to a heat source - now let's think about that for a second - it's a cooling shroud with a inner heating element - but don't let the cooling shroud get close to a heat source? So long story short - it worked GREAT until I didn't keep it positioned quite right and the charcoal flared up and you guessed it the unit basically melted - the cooling shroud collapsed and then catastrophic failure ensued. Now I know I hear what your saying that I didn't follow the instructions to protect the cooling shroud from heat - but had the cooling shroud been made out of a more heat resistance material like ALUMINUM (1,221°F660.3°C melting point) verses plastic which the (255 degrees Celsius (491 degrees Fahrenheit) highest melting point) maybe the user could be a little more relaxed when using it - So I've got another type - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019H0DF50/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_9 ordered - and I will be double checking the engineering and possibly improving the cooling shroud with a little bit of home engineering if I feel it is necessary - or maybe I'll just do it to provide and additional level of protection. I'll add a picture when I get the chance.

Works perfect for Komado Joe Jr.
Great product, took about 15 minutes to remove old gasket, used some acetone for final cleaning before installing the new gasket which to about 10 minutes. Fired up Komado Joe Jr, brought temp up to 375, then shut it down. Don’t open the lid for 12 hours. Worked perfect. Even had enough left over to replace the gasket on one side if needed.

Easy to fit, seals well, just works!
There's not too much to say here apart from the fact that you can tell that it is the same as original. If fits perfectly, works well and looks correct.I followed the Kamado Joe youtube video on how to fit and this was helpful in advising how to remove the existing gasket, clean and then refit the replacement. I would definitely recommend watching this before fitting!

No more purchasing the organic cubed fire starter or the like at $10 - $12 / box and waiting for ...
I've used this a dozen times or so, so far and charcoal is flaming within 1-1/2 minutes. No more purchasing the organic cubed fire starter or the like at $10 - $12 / box and waiting for charcoal to 'catch'. Highly recommend this item.

Not as thick as the original
I replaced the vent seal with the left over piece I had, definitely not as thick as the original. Questioning if it's actually a genuine part
