This is the best pencil sharpener I've ever had so far. Very easy to use, all metal and seems durable... The only problem is that it won't sharp your round pencils with ease, the pencil keeps rotating while using the crank handle. Hexagonal pencils have no problem.

Once in hand you can feel the quality fit and finish for a 'simple' sharpener. Main body is steel construction and has a repeat performance every time you sharpen a pencil. This is my 2nd purchase of this sharpener (first one was the red color which is still going strong 5 years later), its going to be used at another location my kids go to quite often to make things easier and consistent for them. This will offer many years of use, very satisfied

I learned about this sharpener from a friend but was cautioned to be sure to buy the high quality, "Made in Japan" version and not a Chinese copy. This one appears to be the real deal and it cuts with a sharp, satisfying, smooth grind. It worked perfectly with a variety of artist pencils. A spring loaded clamp holds the pencil and pushes it into the sharpener as one turns the crank. There is a knob to adjust the pencil tip between two lengths. I love it!

I bought this sharpener for colour pencils. Actually I bought 4 sharpeners that have high amazon ratings in 6 months but they all worked great for short time and stopped working. I didn’t expect that much about this one but when I sharpened the pencil I was shocked. This sharpener is awesome! I want to give more than 5 stars. Hope this one last longer than the other ones.

You don't need to hold the pencil while using the unit. Easy and quick.

Hands down the best pencil sharpener I've ever owned, even the cheapest of pencils come to a nice point and the operation is so smooth and simple that it doesn't feel like a chore to keep my lead sharp during long writing or drawing sessions.

I haven't had the opportunity to use this pencil sharpener much yet, because the pencils that I have sharpened are still sharp! This sharpens pencils to a great point, and the sharpness lasts for a long time. I am glad that I purchased this well-made pencil sharpener with good quality parts that should last a long, long time.

What a terrific sharpener. I wish I would have discovered the Carl/Angel pencil sharpener before retiring as a elementary school teacher. The Carl sharpens with precision; even pencils manufactured from composite plastic-type materials sharpen nicely. You'll get very impressive results when sharpening a premium cedar wood pencil. The Carl manually operates easily, smoothly, and quietly.

2020/1/21追記　最終的にゴムが全部脱落したので、削れなくなりました。子供たちが気に入っていたので、新しいのを買おうと思ったのですが、その前にカール事務器さんの修理の値段をもう一度確認したら、なんと鉛筆削りの修理代が無料になっていました。片道運賃だけの負担なので修正することにしました。結果すごくきれいになって帰ってきました。素晴らしいです。ありがとうございました。末長く愛用いたします。使い始めて二年半で、鉛筆を挟む部分のゴムが二箇所脱落しました。刃の部分にはトラブルもありませんし、ボディーやメッキ部分の劣化もほとんどありません。メーカーに送れば修理してもらえるみたいですが、新品を購入できるほどの費用がかかってしまいます。長く使える商品を標榜しておられるのですから、メーカーにはこういった消耗部分にも気を使っていただきたいです。

Best sharpener ever. Made in Japan so you know the quality is the best. The seller made sure that I received and was happy with my purchase. Super good customer service, hard to find these days. Hope to work with them in the future.

一年経たずに壊れました。空回りして全然削れません。(芯なども挟まってなく、数本削っている途中に突然削れなくなりました。)仕方なくずっと前からあったプレミアムを使っています。プレミアムも2つ持っていたのですが、1つはちゃんと削れるけど削りカスがまわりにこぼれる欠陥商品でした。毎回汚れるのがストレスで捨ててしまいましたが。。ロイヤルの方が高いのに、こんな寿命が短いなんて。レビューみて一生モノだと思ってたので残念です。
