Way too big
Ordered a 4 for my 5.5 year old, jacket body was still very large, but the sleeves very, very long!! Okay in a pinch, but wouldn’t recommend!

You get what you pay for
I needed a first show jacket for my slim 9 year old daughter who normally wears size 7/8. Based on the reviews, I ordered an 8 and 10 because I was in a rush to get something before the show. Both were way too big in the body and sleeves. I ended up having her use the 8 in the show (because we were in a pinch) but it was not good (see pic). After the show, I ordered the size 6 and although it was a little better on her, it still fit kind of like a navy blue bag with sleeves.Eventually, I bought the Kerrits Competitors Koat (size S) and I couldn't be happier. It is a little pricier, but it looks sooo much better and it is even machine-washable.Overall, this is a coat for kids who think they might want to show but you don't want to spend a lot of money to find out. And don't believe all those reviews that say to size up.But for anyone serious about showing horses, get something better.

Good quality and good price
Jacket is exactly as represented and shipped quickly. The jacket runs larger than the size.

Decent jacket but decided to go with another brand
My daughter is 10 years old and 63 lbs. This jacket fit her well. It feels like a wool or cotton blend, so there is a texture that feels like it would pick up lint/hair pretty easily. Also, it is medium shade of navy, not the super dark but the buttons looked almost purple against it. Go with the larger size as suggested by others if not for a slim girl, as it might have been too tight for an average sized girl. It looked good on her, but we'd ordered two coats to try and decided to go with the Devon-Aire Kids Nouvelle Stretch Show Coat http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A6ZZYU?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1 instead. Reasons: the fabric was a bit thinner and we have 100+ degree summers here. It was also smooth and less likely to appear dirty from lint/hair. It was also more stylish and tailored to fit better. It looked like a more expensive coat.

Not Awful
Purchased the black size 10, my daughter is a standard size 10. She’s on the thin side. The 10 was plenty wide but sleeves were way too short. Length was also short. Returned and got a size 12. The coat is getting wider but the sleeves are still not as long as I’d prefer. We don’t have time to order a bugger size before the show, shipping is slow, so this will have to do. At least the price was under $50 as compared to other coats being $80+. But. You get what you pay for. Not very fitted, just ok.

Runs about 2 sizes small.
My daughter is 7 and just recently has outgrown size 7/8 and wears a 10. The 10s she wears in normal clothes are still pretty big on her. This coat on a size 10 was way small. It couldn't even button. I returned it for. Size 12, which is almost too small. It barely buttons. She'll be able to wear it for the one show she has in a week and then it will be too small. My other daughter who wears a size 7/8 fits perfectly in the size 12 coat. Other than the size issue, this looks nice and seems to be well made.

Good beginner jacket.
I think this fits well. I ordered 2 sizes since people said it ran small. My daughter just turned 7. She is 51" tall and weighs 53 lbs. The size 8 fits well. The material isn't the highest quality, but I still gave 5 stars. The price reflects the quality. It is perfect for kids who are just starting to show. The jacket isn't fitting around the waist very well. It hangs fairly straight. I might have it taken in a bit. My daughter is very skinny, so most things hang off of her.Overall, I think this is a good jacket for the money. It's hard to spend a lot of money when kids grow so fast.
