**SPOILERS**pero hay algo que me previene decir que me encanto este libro y ese algo es la Insoportable de Graciela. No es cuestión de moral, es el hecho de que me simpatizo mucho el personaje de Santiago y me pareció una Crueldad que mientras él estaba en la cárcel ella comienza una relación sentimental y carnal nada mas y nada menos que con uno de sus mejores amigos. No soy quien para juzgar pero ella decide serle infiel a su esposo porque según ella es el tipo de mujer que no soporta la separación y la lejanía!? ESO NO ES AMOR! El amor de verdad no se acaba tan rapido y tan simple. Primera vez que detesto un personaje tan fuertemente en una novela de Benedetti.

EL libro llego en muy malas condiciones aun cuando esperaba que era usado, y es que parece lo usaron para cocinar. Pero, es BENEDETTI, solo por eso el par de estrellas.

Sin embargo, lo encontré aburrido y confuso aparentemente de adrede. una historia muy dura sobre la represión y el exilio en Uruguay

L.lExtraordinaria manera de escribir de Benedetti, un lenguaje sencillo, comprensible pero no por eso banal o falto de contenido, al contrario con esa sencillez puede llevarnos a la reflexiones más profundas, a sentir el ambiente que vivió en la cárcel y a imaginar el gran sufrimiento de un hombre arraigado a sus ideales

Pero qué gran vocabulario en este libro! Además de muchas buenas citas y reflexiones. El autor transmite las sensaciones de vivir en el extranjero de una manera impecable. Imperdible.

La edición de este libro es maravillosa. No tengo queja alguna.

Me encantó el libro! Lo leí en una semana y creo que es de esos libros que podría leer muchas veces mas!

In this book, it is if Benedetti has written "hands off", with no authorial intervention. His protagonists show us, the readers, their problems, struggle with their emotions, thoughts and conversations - in short they are left to talk for themselves, often isolated and solitary. This style of writing mirrors or echoes the lives of a group of Urugayan political exiles during the 1970s. There are chapters throughout the book (written in italic) about Benedetti's own life as an exile, which serve to add veracity to his fictional characters (though undoubtedly based on real people)and their broken lives, brought about by the brutal right wing dictatorship in Uruguay in the 1970s.In many respects, the writing is extremely spare and each character has been given a slightly different style of writing, which also varies in accordance with what is happening in the life of that character. If you are looking for definitively happy endings, then this isn't the book for you, if you want all the details of the Urugayan dictatorship, read a history book but if you want to have some idea about how a group of political exiles, friends and family were affected by imprisonment by this harsh regime and by exile then you might enjoy this 'slightly' optimistic book be Benedetti. Spring does come, but it has a broken corner.

Lo recomiendo, se lee rapidísimo porque es muy ameno. Se me ha hecho muy corto, la verdad. En cuanto al final... Bueno no hago spoiler.

Benedetti es un genio! Su escritura nos deja huellas por su sensibilidad, pasión y prosa poética! Un libro maravilloso sobre los uruguayos bajo la dictadura y el exilio.

Es un libro muy sencillo y rápido de leer, me gusta porque te lleva por diferentes perspectivas de la misma historia mientras avanza, lo recomiendo.

Si te gusta el autor, esta obra es imprescincible en tu biblioteca.
