Silk Princess: The Classic Edition: 1 (Charles Santore Children's Classics)

A beautifully written dark fairy tale. The imagery is outstanding. You really get absorbed in the world as it’s being created.And there’s a real depth to the story - on the surface it’s a very entertaining gothic fable, but there’s so much going on beneath the words that it begs dissection and a re-read (particuarly after finishing the story and re-reading the opening page).Can’t wait for the next one!
