My summer saviour
Now 2020 was a horrible year for us all, locked in our houses as the world gave us the best summer in recent memory. The house was hot and nothing was on the market as everyone bought up everything and we are left using dehumidifiers and fans and the reality is these things do nothing to really help.Fast forward to 2021, I was ready. I took my time and bought an actual air con unit. I have NEVER looked back. This has saved me during summer 21, 22 and 23 and has been one of my best ever purchases on Amazon. This unit is powerful, stylish and gets that room cool instantly.I use on timer setting where I put it on for an hour and it goes off after it so it allows me to put it on when sleeping. These things are not silent but nothing is, and if it comes to being so uncomfortable you can’t sleep or s little background noise and freezing air? Yeah boy, I know what I want.My only gripe about this unit is it’s a fking nightmare to try and get the hose on the back attached. They really need to sort that mechanism as it can be a little frustrating to get it on right. But once it’s on it’s fine.In winter I cover with a bin bag to keep it clean and put it away in the cupboard.I know dehumidifiers are cheaper and look like a good option but they move air around a room, this unit creates cold air, and when it’s so uncomfortably warm, we want new cold air not moved around hot air.Buy this, your future self will thank you.

Compact, quiet and cold air-con
I’ve owned air conditioning units since the late 1990’s from semi-portable split systems, to duel hose portable ones. Some have cost almost £2,000 others (from respected brands) over £450. They have all cooled the air, the thing is none have been as good value and well built as this unit.First off it’s small - far smaller than the box (or what I’d expected). My last 9,000BTU unit was taller and wider and had a condensate collection box to remove and empty every few hours. This uses the water to help cool the condenser coil and thus evaporates (unless it’s especially humid). The plastic case is very good, does not squeak or move. All the parts that come with it from the remote to the window seal kit, again are all decent plastic. The castors move freely and smoothly and it’s not especially heavy either. It has two fan speeds - not too much difference in noise between them, but in volume of air there is. Sleep mode dims the display and forces the unit to low fan mode (preventing you from selecting the high fan mode). The compressor IS very quiet - the main noise is the air being moved by the fan - both within the room and being extracted from it. Note all these air conditioners with single hoses are woefully bad at cooling because as much air is being exhausted from the room as is being sucked back in. This is why duel hose versions are the best but alas in the UK these are very rare.If you are new to air conditioners you’d think it’s great as makes cool air, a room less humid sand this comfy. You will also be surprised by the noise it makes with the sheer volume of air being moved by it. I find this rather relaxing as ‘white noise’ but some may find it too much in a bedroom.Amazing value, great build quality, clear good English instructions makes this by far a good buy. I’m so pleased I opted for this and not one costing £279.99 which was the next cheapest.

Gets VERY cold but very loud and hose pipe is awful
So this was a very reasonable price when ordered. Sub two hundred. It did not come next day as promised but five days later but thats OK. The unit is small and a chap can carry it around OK. The unit is VERY easy to use. Simple controls and a nice remote (need to add your own batteries). It cools VERY VERY well. So for what it does, I am pleased with it. My issue is twofold.1) its incredibly loud. I know there is a price point for it but its hard to sleep with it on.2) the vent hose is appalling - made of like plastic it seems hand cut to size and mine the ends are folded over so it does not screw onto the window or unit well. it's also very short at 1.5m so you cannot really move it around any rooms much.I do not know if you can buy much longer hoses and different materials and you might want an extension lead. BUT 4 stars is fair because it does cool the room very VERY well.

Sounds like a plain taking off.
Not overly impressed with the product or the company from which I purchased it from. It's incredibly loud, rather heavy and the remote only works if you're standing right in front of the unit. Was promised a next day service and the item stated that it was dispatched then I was later informed that it hadn't been dispatched at all, got the item 4 days later. Yes I'll admit it does cool the room down but considering this was purchased for a bedroom it's kind of futile as the noise is horrendous. AVOID!

GREAT PRICE AND QUIET ON LOW --
important point first -- don't take any notice of what it says in the sales blurb -- about it being able to cool down 30 square metre space -- it most deffenatley does a good job of cooling down the room that i have which is 20 square metres -- i would say that is about the limit of its cooling capacity -- in measurements --16ft long x 13ft wide x 9ft tall room -- that is about 20sq m -- noise wise it is most definatley good on low -- on high i think it is comparable to many other air conditioners maybe a bit better -- price wise IS VERY GOOD -- if you look around on amazon -- or the other obvious site --(you know who) -- 9000 btu air conditioners are £400 -- so price wise very good -- most definatley get air conditioning window seal kit -- i have a window that opens outwards from the bottom -- they are only cheap to buy but will save you a lot of hassle -- trying to do some sort of DIY -- to seal off the window -- £15 -- for peace of mind bargain -- as i am typing this it is 30 -- degrees outside -- and inside -- 23.5 centigrade -- just went outside -- and felt the very obvious deffierence in temperature -- -- so definatley good at getting the temperature down -- so all in all a great product for the price (cooling capacity) -- cant think of any negatives -- :)
