I agree 100% with The Tallboy - or, at least, I agree 100% with his mother, even if I am 20 years younger than she is. Absolutely the best ever Pontefract cakes, and quite possibly the best ever liquorice that I've tasted. Fabulous. Exactly the right consistency - not too soft, not too sticky, not too hard. Just easy to chew, without gumming up your teeth. Perfect flavour - quite intense aniseed, coupled with lovely liquorice, and not too sweet. I've loved liquorice since I was five years old - more than seventy years - and I can't remember a better combination of flavour and texture. Great stuff, Berrymans - I'm off to look at what else you produce in your magic kitchen.
