Thrilled!
First off I am thrilled that this webcam was in stock and available to be shipped. I am totally pleased! Very sharp video, high resolution and very good color rendition. Microphone works well too. This is my third attempt, the first one I bought was huge disappointments...terrible sound which deteriorated to no sound at all and a pretty lo-res picture quality. The second came right out of the box with garbled sound quality so bad no one could understand me and a lousy picture with especially poor color rendition. This webcam knocks my socks off it's soooo much better!! While it is manual focus instead of automatic, once you dial it in the picture is VERY sharp. Now....If just it holds up. So far highly recommend!!

A 1080p webcam that is "just enough"
This was a hard one for us to really break down into a final score since we are surrounded by some incredible camera technology, including webcams (including Logi's Brio, 920 series, 930 series, etc). However, this camera wasn't meant to compete with any of this. It was meant to compete within the sub $70 range, thus it comes closer to what you would find build-into a laptop, but (supposedly) better. So that is exactly what we pit it up against. So I dropped by the home office and plugged it into a modern laptop to compare it with (keyword, of course, is modern in order to be fair across the board). Its design is a LOT like the nicer Logi models. We have noticed in recent years that most of the "other brands" have been taking this direction in design. Very likely helps them gain some sales due to familiarity alone. I'm surprised that Logi hasn't patterned the hinge design/approach these use since they are 100%, the same as theirs. That's not what we are looking at though. We are concerned about function more than anything. When it comes to function, it won't compare to some of those more expensive models/brands. That's to be expected. However, when pitted against a few others within the $50 range, as well as the test laptop's built-in camera (which is used within the attached images), this camera stood its ground quite well. So you can rest assured that if you have an older laptop, this is going to look a lot better. It may not live up to all laptop cameras, but I haven't seen many that are better than the one on this one (usually you always have to buy into something better). So this, is that starting point when looking for "better".Compared to the (modern) laptop, this camera doesn't have as wide of an angle. It has a closer capture to it which cuts out a noticeable portion of the background. Usually this is fine since a webcam is mostly used for video communication more than anything, which focuses on you the user. So if it is video communication you are looking for, then this is going to suit you nicely. You do want to be in a naturally and well-lit room though. We noticed that in a darker room with one or two basic "warm" lights (ie, lamps), you get an overly warm image. Skin tons were over-saturated...well, everything was over-saturated. It didn't look good at all. The laptop's built-in camera did better here but the image was grainy/fuzzy and looked terrible (but colors were far more accurate). You can see all of this in two of the attached images. However, in a well-lit room using soft lighting or cooler lighting (white), the image looked much better and colors were more accurate than the laptop's camera. Again, not as wide of an angle, but the skin tones looked better, and so did the detail. A bit over-sharpened in areas, but the laptop camera did the same (as was a bit blurry in others). This camera also lets in more of the light, where the laptop's camera led to a shadowy face.None of the tested lighting situations made use of special lighting (ie, front-light/ring light, etc). Just general lamps or over-head lighting in order to create a realistic experience. As mentioned, the detail in the image (when you have the right light) is much better than the laptop's camera. If you add a front/ring light or something comparable (something soft and not too powerful), you get a wonderful image out of this. The microphone isn't anything to write home about. It sounds about the same as the laptop's built-in microphone. This is the case with many or most webcams though. If you want incredible sound, then buy into an external microphone and pair them together. So in conclusion, this is all about the general user looking for video communication in a well-lit room. You can use their software or use proper third-party software that features color/quality tweaks to get the best out of this (if you tweak with software, this camera looks just fine). If you are looking for something to vlog with, we'd recommend spending better money on something meant for that (this wouldn't be good for that). For what it is, it is a nice camera that just barely missed 5 stars. This is more of a 4.25-star model, which means it is still quite nice.**If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know. Really improves image
Compared to the built in camera on my computer, this is amazing. It was fairly straight forward to install and switch to for video conference use. It was a little squirrely with one machine with Zoom, but I got it eventually. The image in a poorly lit room really was a change. The old camera had me with a dark facial image, this one brightened it up like I had a proper light in front of me, and the background was crystal clear and perfectly balanced brightness.

Exactly what I needed
I had purchased a monitor with a built in camera as I am working from home and involved in alot of video calls. The camera quality was poor, slow, and resulted in ghosting. I ordered this streaming webcam which fits nicely ontop of the monitor and it is excellent -- clear, no ghosting, crisp quality. Arrived in just 5 days. Plug and play. The auto focus can be difficult for viewers if you are moving around alot but for stationary calls it is great. I have not tried the microphone. All in all I am satisfied.

Nice image, not much longevity
Like many others, I bought this camera last spring, so I could work from home. Its been about 8 months and the camera is no longer working. When it did work, it had a high-quality image, but still - i would skip this one if I were you. Also, upon coming back to the order to see if there was any kind of warranty, I discovered the camera is now being sold for 60% less than what I paid. Bummer.

I recommend 100%.
No software! No downloads! No issues! For the price, and at this time of camera and other electronics shortages due to everyone working at home (if they are lucky that is), this can't be beat. you will be hard pressed to find a more legit proposition.Setting it right on top of screen works well, but just be patient and take your time because as stated, it's on the heavier side.Time will tell if it lasts, but for now, I recommend 100%.

Short camera life
The first webcam arrived and the camera did not work out of the box. No big deal - was able to get a replacement without any trouble. The replacement arrived and was able to quickly install and get it working. However, the camera on the replacement has now failed after about 5 months. Would expect a greater life cycle for a product - particularly since it has only been used about once per week for an hour or so. Would steer clear of this product.
