Great Product
As always from Freud, Great product. I first tried one of the cheaper Chinese sets, and the bearing burned up halfway through my first cut. Returned them and ordered this one. After several uses, still keeps cutting well and no signs of bearing failure yet.

Good quality bit
Another good router bit from Freud. I often buy another brand, but this was roughly half the price of that W******** bit, and worked perfectly for my project. I suspect it will last for many years too.

quality made, relatively expensive , some tearout issues in particular "brittle" wood cases
Bit is a high quality product, but since there are no such thing as specialized good all weather car tires - I suppose it is silly to expect the same from cutting bits/tools for all types of wood. thus and then this bit is quite expensive since it is not a Jack of all trades:)remembering freud's thin kerf 24 - 40 teeth 7 1/4 inch saw blades priced roughly at 10 bucks (sort of:):)where cutting teeth require as much precision and engineering inputsuch good blades are so low priced , sold made and consumed in large numbers makes little sense to go and sharpen them - you save time and money on gas or mail.SO thus and then:) at this state of our marketing world it is a router bit of just two cutting surfaces sporting high price while manufactured in automated production machines just like all lower priced quality bits are.like any bit it is not perfect for some woods- even not so hard woods like Padaukmanaged to tear out regularly my Padauk work pieces when the wood fiber changes its direction while cutting a circle with template.I thought it's my lack of experience with particular wood - tried this and tried that - delicate approach - slow slow feed, etc still the same tear out repeated.- quite unexpectedly and unpredictablythen I remembered that "true" industry cutting bits with complex geometry start at 100 bucks roughlyIf true high tech sharpening cost (I have not done yet) also cancels out sense to do it - then I say this price for added bearing and out of set single piece marketing is a high one compared to available low priced lower quality Chinese bits/sets - for amateur and semi pro use. particular size and dimensions of this bit are very well suited in template cutting when a limited shallow cutting depth is required . Good "looks" and very good smooth quality cutting in most cases of woods and plywood particularly.

Very smooth cuts
Bought this specifically for thick pieces cut to a pattern. I was reluctant to go with a straight bit rather than an up or down cutting bit but I am glad I chose this one. It worked brilliantly and I am able to remove the top bearing to continue trimming to the pattern for very thick pieces.

Works perfectly!
Used it to flush some MDF against a template running at 18000 RPM and it did a perfect job (max for this bit was labelled as 24000 RPM). Super clean with no burning or jumpiness that I see in lower end router bits. This one is premium quality!

Not at all flush
The cutter is 9/16” dia but the bearing is 5/8”. I specifically bought this because I wanted a 9/16” bearing to use on other 1/2” flush trim bits, to act as a first rough cut. I’ll keep it because I’ll likely have a use for the opposite effect of what I’m trying to achieve.

Not flush
Not flush it’s offset the bearing it’s bigger than cutting edge
