This unit does exactly what it says on the box. The capacitive touchscreen is lovely, clear, and responsive to touch and gestures. The sound quality is excellent, menus and functionality as good as the reputation that Pioneer have earned over the years for being user friendly and excellent. Used the GPS satnav for a 250 mile round-trip recently with ease and good information about the route and any delays along the way. As yet not fully tested with Google Maps but have managed to send a text purely by voice / Hey Google ... neat! Using the phone to make calls is easy and checking with the caller when I tested it they confirmed the quality was good and clear as it was for me in the car. Not yet tested with the roof down but that will come with time. I did wimp out and get it professionally installed as I knew there were are few tricks to connecting it up with everything that I wanted including USB lead into the glovebox for a chunky Cruzer drive and a second charging USB to the cubby behind the seats (this is in an MX5 so front seats only). Both work fine allowing endless connection with the phone out of sight but always charging whilst connected via Android Auto wirelessly. Whether loading tracks from the USB drive or from the phone the response and loading is fast. Now the bad bit. I originally ordered this through Amazon. All would have been well but the seller (from Italy), despite saying the price includes VAT, refused to pay DHL for the 20% VAT they stumped up when the unit reached UK shores. By the way that's no small charge - another £187. It then took weeks with lots of promises from Amazon customer support to deal with the issue. I was told on multiple occasions that I had been refunded but that never happened and the seller just clung on to saying it is the customer who should pay VAT, using Brexit as an excuse (and a blatant lie). So, buyer beware - some sellers here advertise at less than £1,000 but they are not being honest and being market place sellers you are not dealing directly with Amazon so they just keep refusing to honour their own terms of sale. Yesterday I got another letter from DHL demanding payment for something that I never received and no longer own as Amazon eventually refunded me the whole amount. In the end I just ordered from A UK car audio online retailer, still less than £1,000 and delivered with no fuss. This will be nearly 4 months after I placed the order with Amazon, so it is getting a bit boring still having to clear up Amazon's mess. I still rated it 5stars because that is what this unit is - flagship and top-notch. I didn't rate the ease of installation as I didn't do it but can say watching the fitter who did it all went in fine with the correct double-din adaptor fascia and the required steering control adaptor too.

Habe das Gerät vor ein paar Tagen durch eine Fachwerkstatt eingebaut bekommen, da das alte Gerät kein DAB+ und kein TMC hatte. Wohl eines der letzten seiner Art mit CD Laufwerk - mit neuen Modellen mit CD rechne ich hier nicht mehr. Solides Gerät mit guter, schneller und einfacher Bedienung, wenn man sich erstmal mit allen Funktionen vertraut gemacht hat. DAB+ Empfang ebenfalls sehr gut. Navi kurz angetestet, hat zuverlässig funktioniert. Der Kritikpunkt bzgl. Kartenupdates kann ich teilweise nachvollziehen - man muss sich für Updates wohl auf einer anderen Seite etwas umständlich neu registrieren und kann sich dann erst die Daten downloaden - werde ich mich die Tage auch einmal mit befassen. Es liegt keine Fernbedienung bei, was mich nicht stört. Bereue den Kauf nicht - 4 bis 5 Sterne bislang.
