Seems to work as intended, but is degrading quickly.
Within the first 2 months of using this shock cord, the rubber has begun to degrade. Despite frequent cleaning with freshwater and proper storage, the rubber is cracking and some sort of black sticky substance is coming from where the metal clip connects to the rubber.

I investigated the item and the rubber is like a sponge now
Based on the review, I purchased this item hoping that it is worth the money, but it deteriorated quickly and snapped. I contacted the seller, but no response. So, for those who are considering this item, it is not worth the money in my opinion. I purchased this item in April 2016. I have used this on my speargun for 4~5 times so far. After each use, I always wash my gun with fresh water and dry it and keep it in my garage. Normally used as far as I can tell. After it snapped, I investigated the item and the rubber is like a sponge now. Rest of the hardware and the cord itself looks good, but without the rubber it is no use. I should bought this item at Neptonics who guarantees that it will not deteriorate nor snap after few use. I was trying to save few bucks and some shipping and now I have to go buy one from Neptonics.... :(
