Great resource to embed literacy in your math and have fun, too
I love this book. True, I expected the math problem to be in the comic strip, but I wasn't upset that it wasn't. For all the naysayers, let me say this - the comic strip alleviates math anxiety! So, even though the problem isn't in the comic, the comic does serve its purpose in making math more comfortable and even social. There are 87 pages of match comic strips. Each page has about 6 word problems that will interest children and are related somewhat to the topic of the comic. At the bottom of each page is a SUPER CHALLENGE, which extends the skill on the page in a more rigorous word problem. So, I got over my "aww man, the math problem isn't in the comic" sadness really fast and moved on to the numerous positive aspects of the book. The first thing I did was "tear my book apart" and place the sheets in page protectors and set up a check-out system for students to check out pages for "gap" time in class. They love these pages and love working in pairs. They read the comics to each other and take turns reading the word problems to each other. I've also used the pages in rotating stations. I like that literacy and critical thinking is embedded in the math session.I highly recommend this book, especially for your older students who are struggling in basic math and reading skills. This book really meets their learning needs.

I feel like when I rate a product and / or a seller as excellent, I am confused as to why I must submit a comment, so I just say lots of things like this. There's nothing more to say, this product was as expected, I did not contact the seller, and everything arrived right on time. This is all I have to say. This is all I have to say. This is all I have to say. This is all I have to say.

Good math book.
Pretty good. I wish the comics were connected to the math better.

Great for all types of learners!
There are so many different levels of math covered here. Everything from 2nd-6th grade math. A perfect supplement to our main math curriculum. It's fun for kids to read thru and interesting to all types of kids. Some of the comic strips joke may have to be explained but it's a fun way to teach different math concepts without it seeming like math. Win Win!

It was funny.,
I thought the math problems would be IN comic strips. Not that the comic strips are above then the word problems are separate. I was picturing the graphic history books we buy. Just did not meet my expectations.

Great Math Supplement
I use this in my homeschool to supplement our math studies. Before we started using it, I left it out, and my 9-year old son picked it up and started reading the comics inside. That got him motivated to use it in class, and now he and his sister don't complain when I pull out one of the worksheets. Good investment!

Great math resource for 3rd grade and up
Well written problems. They make you think! The comics are enjoyable and make learning math fun. My kids like it, but they try to skip the extra challenge questions....nice try, kids.

Fun practice
My 4th graders get these once in a while as an enhancement to their learning. They love the different style of the comic strip. I do wish they were a little more story-like or funnier, but they re great.
