favorite!
It's clear to me I'll have to start buying these videos since you can't see them on TV anymore. I have always loved this version. I don't even have kids! LOL. So what right? We all need to enjoy the simple things in life. Things we loved as a kid.

Enjoyable Classics!
I love these two Disney short films. I'm not sure why they have been put together, but they are both very enjoyable. I grew up watching the Ichabod cartoon, but I believe it was called "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" when I saw it on TV, it was not put together with Mr. Toad. Only when it was released on DVD was it joined. I owned the VHS Copy for years, and still do.Bing Crosby the narration for the Sleepy Hollow part (Ichabod). His narration, and the animation make this an all time classic. Adults and children will be watching this decades from now. Its over 50 years old already! The adventures of Mr. Toad or "Wind in the Willows" is a classic cartoon as well. Watching it really lets me know why the ride at Disneyland is called Mr. Toads Wild Ride. Watch these both, purchase them, and enjoy. You will be glad you did!

Sleepy Hollow is still fun and creepy!
Good ol' Ichabod Crane and his spooky adventure! I first saw this many years ago as a kid and it has stuck with me all this time. The animation, music, and sound effects are fantastic. The mood is especially creepy when Ichabod is riding his old horse home one dark and stormy night. Beware, beware! The original story by Washington Irving is also great and worth reading. I watch this little show every Halloween. The Mr. Toad story is amusing, but doesn't hold up as well to repeat views.

Truly A Classic To Be Watched Every Year At Halloween
Funny how a cartoon can become a favorite even for an Adult. I have loved Ichabod's Legend of Sleepy Hollow since my son was little and watched it. He is now twenty-five years old and I still watch it every year as a part of Halloween tradition. Cute characters and love the song choices and dreamy voice of Bing Crosby. The visual colorization and effects in this movie are stunning. Watch Ichabod as he tries to woo the beautiful Katterina and be a part of her rich estate that her father owns. You'll laugh and shudder a little as you watch him try to get through the forest away from the Headless Horseman.

Story telling of a very high art
I suppose I was suffering from a bout of nostalgia remembering poor Ichabod Crane being chased by the Headless Horsemen--and that of incorrigible Mr. Toad in "The Wind in The Willows." So when I found these Disney's classics together on one DVD I was bound to order it. How do the two animated stories hold up, after not having seen them since the mid-1950s? Quite well. Disney's animators were known to be outstanding, and the job they did with these stories is no exception. And how to improve upon Basil Rathbone and Bing Crosby as narrators? You don't. This is story telling of a very high art. Absolute perfection.

Not just for Halloween any more!
I watched this movie on the Disney channel when I was a kid and the thing I'd forgotten about it was that it's actually two completely different stories. I bought it this year for my kids to watch as a Halloween movie and the first thing they said to me when I put it on was "this has nothing to do with Halloween". The part of the movie that had really stuck in my mind...The Headless Horseman...is really just one little part of the second story. But bad memory aside...this is a really sweet movie. Visually appealing in a very classic way. For anyone who is a Disney fan, you need to have this movie in your collection!

The Classic that started it all - Disney does evil the best!
A classic Disney animation narrated by Bing Crosby as only he can. Mr. Toad is OK but Ichabod is where this movie really shines with a complete narration by Bing and songs too. My kids are growing to love this and I grew up watching this as part of Disney's Halloween Treat on the Disney Channel back in the early 80's (this isn't that whole show however - not sure if it's available anywhere).

Ichabod and Mr Toad...true classics
I bought this to watch with my 7yr old boy. I loved Ichabod when I was a kid and thought he would too. Not much to say on this one. It is the correct full versions. I did have a moment on the menu because it mentions Mr Toad and shows Ichabod as a story book story. I thought I had made a mistake as I really wanted just Ichabod. So I watched Mr Toad and sure enough, Ichabod follows it. So don't lose your head if you can't find Ichabod, he's there at the end.

Together again - or not, in the Headless Horseman's case!
This review is from: The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr Toad [1949] [DVD] (DVD)The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad was another of Disney's features that were really a compilation of shorts, although in this case its seven reel running time is made up of just two stories boasting star narrators. Basil Rathbone makes the case for Toad of Toad Hall being one of the greatest characters in English literature, though the half hour animated version of The Wind and the Willows loses much of the charm and whimsy of the original story in favor of something simpler and more energetic. It's not bad at all taken on its own terms, and Eric Blore is perfect voice casting as Toad, but a little more attention to the story would have been welcome: Toad's prison escape dressed as a washerwoman is all but skipped over when it should have been a gift for a comic sequence. Bing Crosby takes up the narrating duties for the second half, an adaptation of Washington Irving's Legend of Sleepy Hollow complete with 40s songs not far removed from Donald Duck's theme tune. Unfortunately this does feel a bit stretched out until the Headless Horseman makes his belated appearance for an impressive and fiery finale that's not quite impressive enough to take away the feeling that it would have worked much better as a one-reel short.Unfortunately the picture quality on Disney's DVD isn't as impressive as it could be either, with a lot of white speckles on the picture. Still, with both films released separately for so long in the past - The Wind and the Willows turning up as a short supporting `feature' on Disney theatrical reissues like Alice in Wonderland and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow more often relegated to Disney's TV series - it's good to have them back in their original format. The classic Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy cartoon Lonesome Ghosts, which almost certainly served as the inspiration for Ghosbusters, provides a welcome extra alongside kiddie-friendly singalong, interactive game and storybook features.

Waited years for this
A few years ago i remembered having seen a scary cartoon about Sleepy Hollow when i was a child. It took me ages to track it down (mainly as i didnt know what it was called), & i've eventually got it from Amazon. The title is deceiving, as it infers that Ichabod and Mr Toad are in one adventure - but it's two separate stories.Of course, its not as scary to me now - but its still very good and you can scare the kids with it!I now just need someone to help me find the other one i want from olden days - The Blue Danube - it's lovely little birds & woodland animals, squeezing the blueberry juice into the river to make it blue - all to the music of 'The Blue Danube'.
