Great cooler and easy installation onto the latest i7 chip
I purchased this tower cooler (at around 40 dollars) to mount on a new i7 5930 with. It's one of the few coolers I found acceptable for an LGA 2011v3 socket. This cooler has copper heat pipes flattened into an even surface area for direct contact with the chip (no nickel plating). A large fan and fins are position to blow air and remove hear (in my case) directly out the rear of my case using a 180mm case fan (I think it's 180). For the 2011 slot installation it really could not be simpler. There are 4 metal spacers that fit as sleves over the screw holes giving just the right vertical spacing to firmly lock up the tower on the board. 2 little arms are mounted to the bottom to cover the holes and with great delight I report (to those of you who have yet to work with the LGA 2011) there is no backplate. It screws on with 4 screws and that's it.The only downside to this cooler is the thermal paste which comes in a syringe and is pretty inexpensive in my view. I used it because this is temporary build before I install water cooling and I didn't want to waste the good stuff. I would take off only 1/2 or 1/3 a star for that if I could. I frankly don't expect decent thermal paste to ship with a cooler any more :)This cooler runs my chip at idle at under 90 degrees farenheit with a low RPM on the fan. More than acceptable.

BEST bang for buck, better than closed loop liquid in many cases.
This is a beast of an air cooler. Not quite up there with some of the twin fan designs but a 320w TDP nonetheless. Will easily out perform many closed loop liquid cooling solutions and be 1/5th the hassle to install. At least for socket 115* series. Socket 2011 it is only 1/10th the hassle. 115* requires the included back plate with adhesive be installed. The unit *can* be installed with your board in place if your chassis provides a cutout but I'd recommend mounting before putting the board in so you can work on a flat surface if possible. Arctic coolers are quiet and long lasting and I'd highly recommend this as probably one of the *best* solutions under $50.

Some Versions With Same Model Name Are NOT LGA 2011-3 Compatible.
Caution - There are a number of versions with exactly the same model name "ARCTIC Freezer i30 CO Extreme CPU Cooler" but different compatibility. LGA 2011-3 comes in two ILM socket configurations, namely, "square" with 80x80mm hole spacing and "narrow" with 56x94mm hole spacing. If you are purchasing a LGA2011-3 socket, you must first determine which ILM socket type. Best I can determine, these i30 models are all "square" type. Lastly, make sure your cooler will clear you ram.The one I end up with was NOT "LGA 2011-3" and even if I had purchased the correct model, it may not be Narrow ILM Socket compatible as their specifications are not that specific. Combined with Arctic's use of the same model name but different version specifications, if you require a 2011-3 version, you best be prepared to do the home work Arctic has not done for you.Arctic make a nice quiet cpu cooler and I went out of my way to purchase one here on Amazon. If it could have been mounted, I am sure it would have served for a long time as they make a high quality product. Target main board was ASRock Rack EPC 612D8.While likely just need a different connector, their technical support never wrote me back.

Excellent cooler!
Excellent cooler!!Huge, massive THING! (950 Grammy!!!)Be advised, that wright side of this cooler is covering the nearby DDR slot. The only way to avoid this covering - use low profile RAMs. (Not more than 30-31 mm height)I do wish to be there ability for alternative solution for cooling fan fixing. (If remove the plastic case, there will be enough space for nearby RAM slot. I think that using the metal mount will be suitable for fixing the fan) Otherwise, be ready for some inconvenience manipulations for "NOT TO CLOSE RAM SLOT"Finally, i am very pleased that i have purchased this cooler.Recommend for all enthusiasts!!!Vakhtang.

check your sizes!
Pros: Cools well, dead simple installation on a socket 2011.Cons: It fits on my Evga X99 FTW, BUT it blocks PCI-e socket 1 (the 16-lane one), and my DIMM slot 8.Going to replace it with the i11, hopefully it will be thin enough to allow me to use slot 1.Measure twice before ordering this bad boy!

One of the better cooler designs
One of the better cooler designs. However, with my motherboard (an ASUS Sabertooth 990fx), the fan overhangs the memory slots if arranged in a push configuration. I had to mount the fan on the back side of the heatsink in a draw-configuration in order to mount my memory cooler.

Too tall
Did not fit in my case and I had to send it back.

easy packaging. Clear directions
Compact, easy packaging. Clear directions. Easy to install. Lowered my CPU's temps by about 20 f° compared to the stock heatsink and fan. Great deal! However, be weary of it's size.

Freezer i30 CO - ANOTHER TOP NOTCH PRODUCT FROM AC
Freezer i30 CO - excellent cooler for the money, anything roughly equivalent (on paper) seems to be double the price. I have found it to be very quiet indeed, just a very gentle whoosh at max rpm and almost nothing below that. This is a PWM cooler so BIOS or motherboard utilities can adjust the fan speed dependent on temperature. Note that this "i" version is for Intel chipsets only.Packaging is minimal but attractive and adequate as is usually the case with Arctic. The contents are well protected and I saw no evidence of damage. A bag of fittings and a sachet of MX4 thermal paste are provided. You will need a cross head screwdriver, one with a slightly magnetic tip would be useful. I would also prefer a small syringe of paste rather than a sachet as it is easier to apply, the sachets can be fiddly and if you aren't careful you end up with it all over your fingers. As said many times, this is LARGE - check the dimensions on Arctic website. It fills my Fractal Design R5 nicely. Also there is a good chance you may block the closest memory slot, especially if you have high ramsinks. In my case I use low profile ramsinks so it actually fitted under the fan cowl with no issues. The 120mm PWM fan is easily interchangeable if you want to replace it, but this one is very good and has special bearings designed for long term continuous operation. The fan is mounted inside the cowl and uses rubber spacers for vibration damping. I like it.Fitting this monster requires a little time and an organised approach, but the instructions are fairly good. Just make sure you identify which section of the instructions refer to your socket type, and which parts you need as there is more than one set provided. The little stickers are a bit fiddly but only took a few minutes, the whole thing went on in under 15. I would echo the comments of others that the amount of MX4 provided is adequate but not excessive, so don't waste it.My i7-4790K now idles at 20-25 degrees, and only hits 50 degrees playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and 60 degrees playing Far Cry 4. That's about 10 degrees less than my previous arctic cooler. And all nearly silent. For the price, definitely another winner from AC.

Superb high quality cooler
This is an excellent coolerProsVery easy to fitAlmost silent operationCore i7 CPU 3770k runs at around 29C idle and 40C under gaming load pushing up towards 50C on CPU heavy video encodingFan rotation is really smooth with no wobble. Perfectly balanced operationConsPossible issue is it very tall and might be too big for some older ATX cases. Modern ATX cases should be fine but I strongly recommend measuring your clearance firstIt has quite a large footprint and although the copper heat pipes are raised up quite sharply it is possible that some mother boards may have components that get in the way. Again, check first

Does exactly what its supposed to :)
I used this with the i5-6600k and the CPU temperature settled around 21-23 degrees when booted into BIOS.If you intend to use large sized RAM I would check the sizes prior to purchasing this.On the ASUS Z170 deluxe motherboard you will only be able to install normal sized RAM in the slots closest to the heatsink.

Only bad point is it causes clearance issues
Only bad point is it causes clearance issues, only allowing for 3 Dimms on a 4 Dimm MoBo. However, I overclocked my i7 4790k to 4.5GHz and was reaching temps of 75-80 Celius on IntelBurnTest (That's 100% load with 10GB RAM usage) Idle temps were 30-40 Celsius and Gaming was around 40-55 Celsius.Installing this was a pain I'll have to admit, try and make sure to have your 8pin CPU power connector connected before installing this as it can sometimes get in the way.
