Very quirky, very engaging, very accessible, very Bristol
Read this from cover to cover as soon as it arrived and I absolutely loved it.Great mixture of history, anecdote and Bristol-lore with beautiful pictures to boot. Very quirky, very Bristol.I lived in the City for several years and have explored some of these hidden gems but was oblivious to so many of them. Great list of places to include on my next visit.Had this on my coffee table for 3 hours before a friend came over and spotted it and started reading.Delighted to have as a lovely addition to the bookcase and a gorgeous reminder of one of the best cities in the world

Numerous interesting places to visit in Bristol
I have read this book from cover to cover as preparation for visiting Bristol for a few days in June.Lots of interesting facts about sites and buildings that we are looking forward to discovering for ourselves. The book has lots of detail, so it should be easy to find our way about. I have always wanted to walk across the historic suspension bridge!

Interesting but lacks structure
Not quite captivating enough to read through before visit. Once in Bristol found it difficult to tie in locations to areas we visited. Would have been more use if it was arranged numerically (as on map) rather than alphabetically. Ended up missing quite a few that we could have visited just because I got fed up referring to map then looking up or vice versa.Places and narrative were a bit samey- however useful introduction to somewhere we had not been before. Amazing the number of things we came across by accident that were in the book.

Hidden Treasure!
Don't miss it! There's so much to see in Bristol and Martin Booth picks out a fascinating array of places to visit. In this beautifully laid out book, he shines a light on wonderful sights, guides you there and provides a helpful one page commentary - who needs more than that? Martin's deep knowledge & Barbara Evripidou's eye-catching photographs combine to bring the city to life. You'll be glad you had this guide with you.

Great book - whether you live in Bristol or are just visiting
I have lived in Bristol for most of my life but there is plenty in this book that I haven't heard of, let alone visited. It's really well written and the photos are lovely - a great book for Bristolians and tourists alike.
