Sodastream Source Home Soda Maker
Very well pleased. Haven't found a flavor that I love yet, my husband likes the orange. Works very easy, I always put the full amount of fizz in it and it seems to hold the fizz very well. I purchased extra bottles so I can have my diet and he can have his regular. To top it off I could get it in red. Paid extra for red but it is nice looking on the counter top.

Corroded Battery right out of the box!
Source Home Metal 3 Piece Sparkling Water Maker Starter Set Color: RedThe LED didn't light up the first time I used this product. Result: over-carbonated water. Maybe I was doing something wrong? The next day I tried it again, going a little slower. Same result. I had absolutely no idea when to stop pressing down. So... a little Googling led me to a video of how to replace the battery. After unscrewing two screws, and prying off the cover what I found was a big mess. The battery had leaked acid all over the plastic mount and etched it away until the battery holder was just hanging by wires. It had fallen back into the machine. See the pictures I provided. Very poor showing, SodaStream. Quite disappointed. That being said, I give 5 Stars to both Amazon Customer Service and the third-party seller Dave Parkers. I had the return processed and on it's way back within a few hours, and on a holiday weekend!

Love the red soda stream but not they sent me a white one.
Functions well, meets our needs. Gave to my husband on Xmas day ( didn't open box to check color). I ordered red to match our retro kitchen but it came in white. So that was disappointing. Too much trouble to go through return process but I won't order from this vendor again.

Seltzer extraordinaire.
I like 2¢-Plain. I like soda, Diet Coke mostly. I kept seeing the SodaStream ads and product in stores. So, a rebate a good price on a Amazon, put them together and I have a SodaStream. I've tried a bunch of flavors and I'll keep buying the Diet Coke. But some are good, like Country Time Diet Lemonade and some are horrid like the sample of the energy drink. {shudder}. I mostly make 2¢-Plain (Seltzer) and fizzy lemonade, but I'm happy. My only issue and the one star deduction is it doesn't always release enough excess gas at the end and removing the bottle results in a BIG BANG and an almost launch of the bottle. Not sure it's supposed to do that. I'm more careful now. Still I do recommend it.

Loud and not reliable
We got this machine as an upgrade to the basic model. Yes, it is more weighted so it doesn't jump around with a little rough handling or putting in the canister. But, It is harder to get the canister in, because it has a more molded shape back there... and less room for fingers. The most annoying thing by far is the "LED display which indicates three levels of fizziness for precise carbonation with every use." This DOES NOT INDICATE ANYTHING HELPFUL. It is a light timer, basically telling you how long you have depressed the top. If the nozzle clogs with ice, as it does if the water is cold enough, it doesn't change it's time to include the now reduced amount of CO2 getting into your drink. In fact, if you leave the top depressed long enough it just starts all over again. And now, instead of the "fart" noise you listen for with the basic model (they call it a buzz), you get a very loud and obnoxious "train whistle" that is more off-putting than anything else we have in the kitchen. We donated this and went back to our old basic model. DON'T BUY. The basic is more environmentally friendly, because it is made of less plastic and doesn't let you so easily dump CO2 into the atmosphere.

SodaStream Home Soda Making Will Improve Your Life
I believe the SodaStream Home Soda Maker is a dietary innovation even greater than Ron Popeil's Showtime Rotisserie & Barbecue. For a long time I've felt about 95% of the enjoyment of carbonated beverages derives from the CO2 gas in solution. The other 5% comes from flavoring. The flavoring is the killer, as fructose (corn-originated sweetener) isn't metabolized by the human liver, but stored directly as fat. Fructose sweetener (hello ADM) is the leading cause of epidemic obesity in the United States.SodaStream home soda water has the potential to reverse this health crisis and save consumers bundles of $$. I've used my unit for only three days and am ecstatic each time I "gas-ify" 30 ounces of refrigerated tap water. SodaStream carbonated water is an identical, one-to-one replacement for the 12-ounce cans I purchased from Kroger for years, and had to physically return to reclaim our 10-cent-per-unit aluminum can bounty (deposit). No more wasted gasoline. No wasted time. No messing with can-crushing equipment. No checkout lines. No corrugated packaging to recycle/discard.Home soda production via SodaStream could devastate the carbonated beverage industry and eliminate this needless waste of resources. Simultaneously, waistlines of U.S. soft drink lovers will shrink. Overnight !!Buy this product now. It is smart in too many ways to mention in this limited forum.

Caution!
Great idea in theory. It should say in the little handbook that is provided that when it runs out of carbonation the water will go all over your counter and floor!

MEH.
I've had three other SodaStream makers in the past, and I was never displeased. The others were easier to use re: carbonation, it would only take one or two good pumps - this one is finicky. The bottle it comes with sucks... I constantly have to re-carbonate, I think SodaStream is cheaping out on products that come with the kits, so that we buy the extras. The kits I've purchased in the past came with glass bottles of trial flavors.. these plastic samples are awful. You know you're not gonna reuse them! There isn't even a way to close them or stand them up... Sigh, thumbs down SodaStream. CUTE COLOUR, THOUGH!!! :|
