This carb was fine
Fine but I still happily threw the whole damn trimmer in the trash and got a 60v dewalt battery powered trimmer...no more messing around with gas trimmers every spring for hours on end...no looking back for me...newer battery powered trimmers are on par now with gas and cause zero headaches...every time you pick it up it works...thank you jesus!

Homelite 185
Fit my old Homelite 185 and started with no adjustments to mixture screws and would need special tool to adjust screws. 4 stars because lack of instructions and had to modify throttle linkage. Still its worth the cost.

This part brought life back to an old weed eater that hadn't been used for years.
Great product, my husband got an old weed eater from his Dad that hadn't been used for years. It was even gelled up in the gas tank. He cleaned that out, put this on and it fired right up!

Solved my starting problems
After many attempts to clean and adjust the carburetor on my Homelite string trimmer, I decided to replace the carb. This one fit perfectly and has functioned well since being installed.

It works mostly good
Okay, so the good:- Parts were an exact fit to my old Homelite string trimmer. Seriously, they worked beautifully. I was able to put in fresh fuel lines with a fresh fuel filter (probably never changed, so I know this would help).- New air cleaner fits!- Priming bulb on the top of the carburetor means no more reaching up between the airbox and the engine to fumble around blindly. The not so good:- Adjustment screws are proprietary. You need to use their specialized 'D'-shaped screwdriver to adjust the Low and High settings.- Even though it may come pre-set from the manufacturer, you're going to need to fiddle with the settings to get this running right on your machine.- Although this fits and works, there's no instructions that come with the kit. I understand this kit fits many different models of string trimmer, but they should at least include instructions on how to tune the carb, where to hook up the throttle cable on the mounting plate (there are 5 different holes the throttle cable can connect to), and how to adjust the idle set screw for optimum performance.I'm not a small engine mechanic, but I know how to replace parts and understand how something like a carb is interconnected to the rest of the machine. The lack of instructions is the big downside to this product.Quality, value, fit, are all great. It breaths new life into a 30+ year-old machine, now I have to figure out how to tune the carb.

Works in Homelite UT15151
I wanted to tune up my Homelite trimmer, but the local shop charged more than I wanted to spend. After pricing the cost of the filters and spark plug, I decided that paying a little more for a new carburetor (which included the filters ad spark plug) was worth it. (Although I am mechanically inclined, I don't like to work on gas engines.)Although this carburetor was not designated for use on my trimmer, it looked identical to the one I was replacing (except this one needed the included special tool to make adjustments).Replacing the carburetor was quite easy. In the process, one of the original hoses broke so it was great that this kit included replacement hoses. The trimmer started up right away - the only adjustment needed was the idle was to fast.Although the included spark plug did fit, I could not verify that the included spark plug was the same as the one I needed, so I purchased a spark plug at a local store. One minor problem: When I bought this carburetor, the choke would not close. It is supposed to have 3 positions - open, partially closed, and closed. It can only be moved between the open and partially closed position. I requested a replacement. When I got the replacement, it was in the open position and would only move partially towards the partially closed position. I decided to force it to see what happens. After forcing it, the choke can be moved to any of the 3 positions.

Exactly what I needed.
This item fixed my weed eater. My unit is like brand new. I’m back in business. It was perfect.
