Jacobson Hat Company Men's Beard

Needed it for my 9-year-old daughter for one of her school projects. She did a report with a trip-fold on Steven Spielberg and needed to dress up like him for the Wax Museum they did. I was able to easily cut this to size, spray it with white spray paint (so it would be grey), and take in some of the side so that it fit around her mouth. The rubber band that holds the beard in place goes around around the head, it was a little bit low on her ears and kind of bent them forward, but it was fine for an hour. The rubber band fit perfectly around her head and held the bread in place so we didn't have to do anything there.So this is a good beard, it can be changed to pretty much whatever is needed, or just worn as it is.

I never dreamed I'd write a review for a fake beard, but it is quality enough to be worthy of the time in hopes of helping others.The item was purchased for a third grade biography parade to honor Dr. Seuss. It was too long for our purpose but was easily trimmed to fit so the bow tie would not be hidden under the beard. With the help of strategically placed double-sided tape (not included) on the back side of the mustache, this helped to keep it secure and kept my little guy's nose clear. The white elastic band (worn towards the top of the head instead of around the back of the head) was tight enough to keep the beard in place without being bothersome, but because my son did not wear a wig it was visible...obviously he is not gray haired (and finding an appropriate gray wig was not possible) so we were just going for resemblance, not authenticity.

We bought this to use for a Lego Ninjago Sensei Wu costume, so price was a big factor, and I didn't want to glue/stick anything to my child's sensitive skin. While this is clearly more Santa Claus than Sensei Wu, the boy is happy, and the price was reasonable. My kid has a pretty big head (for a kindergartener) but this is still a little loose for him. I'm not complaining, because nothing says this is made in a child size, but I thought it was worth mentioning that this does seem adult-sized.He's been wearing it all evening with no complaints about itching, so hopefully it will last until Halloween next week.We're wearing this with Asian Sun Hat Party Accessory (1 count) and his usual judo uniform White Light Weight Karate Uniform Size 0000 to 8 to which I will apply some hand-drawn patches.

I love this beard's look. It does not look too fake and sits securely on one's face, which is perfect for everyday use. However, one thing I have noticed is how easily hair from the beard is lost and shed. By simply wearing the beard, I was left with noticeable amounts of beard hair on my clothes. And, furthermore, all it takes is a small tug to remove large swathes of hair. All in all, purchase this beard with that in mind. If you are looking for a more durable beard, look elsewhere. If you are on a budget and don't mind the fragile nature of this product, this is your place to go.

I bought this product for a Smurf costume for my daughter. She loved it and it looked good. The beard stayed on the whole time with the elastic.

The image show is way off from what actually arrived. he fur is not thick . . . you can literally see through the beard when wearing it. The mustache is not at all shaped or separate as shown in the image. What actually arrived is a cheap piece of fur with a whole cut out for the mouth. The beard is worth $0.99 not the $5.99 I paid for each of 7 pcs. I would never purchase this or any other item from this vendor. DISAPPOINTING!!!

I was putting on a show for a college course and had to have a guy in the 10 minute play dress up as Santa Claus. The show was a comedy and the beard made the part work perfectly. It was pretty strong and durable surprisingly by how cheap it was. Great for any play you have to do that either needs a comedic looking Santa Beard or just need the effect and not worry about it breaking easily. This withstood 8 practices and one show of being pulled and tossed, and it's still in one piece! 5/5

I am not terribly impressed with this fake beard. 'You get what you pay for' certainly applies here. Cheaply made in China.It fit comfortably but was bad to lose hairs with minimal use. Modifications to the shape of the beard are not easily made.My biggest gripe: The color was supposed to be brown and in the product picture it appeared to be a dark brown. But when I received it the beard was far too red for my purposes. It should have been labeled as 'reddish brown'.I may yet have a use for it but I will need a reddish brown wig to accompany the ensemble.
