Wildly different with more than 45 interesting and fun designs to color
The media could not be loaded. This is my first coloring book by this talented artist, Samarra Khaja. I hope there will be more books in the future as I find the art to be so very different from what is generally available in a quality coloring book. There is a modern and whimsical air to the hand drawn designs. I like so many of them, I am having a little difficulty choosing my first project. I am leaning towards the pigs in what looks like the interior of an airplane (maybe that is a play on "if pigs could fly").The pages are a good medium weight white paper. All of my markers (both alcohol and water based) bleed through the page. My gel pens do not but I do see a shadow on the back side of the page. Not a problem, though, as the designs are printed on only one side with the back side left blank. If you are using regular markers or watercolors, you can put an extra page in between just in case some color leaches through. The pages are perforated and are extremely easy to remove. Some of the designs run over the perforated edge, so you may lose a small part of those designs if you remove the page from the book (as I do.) Additionally, the binding easily lies flat and gives you access to make coloring in this book and easy and fun thing to do.These are the coloring medium that I use for testing. If there is something else you feel I should be testing, please let me know and I will see if I can add it to my growing pile:Markers: 1) alcohol-based – Copic Sketch, Prismacolor double ended markers (brush and fine point), Sharpies (fine and ultra-fine) and 2) water-based – Tombows dual end markers (brush and fine point), Stabilo 88, Staedler triplus fineliners, and Pentel markersGel Pens: Sakura, Fiskars, Uni-ball Signo 0.38/0.28 and TekwriterColoring Pencils: Prismacolor Premier Soft Core, Derwent Colorsoft, Prismacolor Verithins, and Faber-Castel Polychromos

Wonderfully Whimsical
I truly cannot look at the pictures in this coloring book without smiling! It's hard to pick a favorite picture...the techie owl? the cats? Nope, it's got to the ones with piggies. They are just adorable! If you can look at the pig smiles without smiling yourself you, my friend, have a hard heart. The paper is a decent weight, but no matter, as the pictures are only on one side. And the pages are perforated and very easy to detach from the book. Some of the pictures are very detailed, and others less so. It's truly been a joy to color. I've used both Fiskars gel pens and Pro-Art Fantasia pencils, and both mediums glide smoothly across the paper. I would love to see more coloring books by this talented artist.

I decided I did want the pages that did have the bookshelves and I have to say that some of the other pages are also cute enough
I purchased this understanding there were not many pages with books on them. I decided I did want the pages that did have the bookshelves and I have to say that some of the other pages are also cute enough to enjoy coloring. For those who were less happy or would like more books on the pages I would like to suggest this title- Colin Thompsons Fantastisches Malbuch which is incredible and MORE than makes up for "Off the Bookshelf"s lack of books.

Love it!
I really love this coloring book and the variety of pictures in it. While I was disappointed there weren't more bookshelf/library/bibliophile pictures, there were tons of cute ones! I especially like that the pictures vary from fairly simple to super intricate. I hope to see more from Samarra Khaja!

Absolutely in love with 6 pages
Absolutely in love with 6 pages. Can use several other pages. If you like landmark cities, there are several pages. Plus some owls, some fairytale/woodland pages, fantasy, etc. Quite a variety actually. But actually, for the librarian in me, truly happy with 6-8 pages.

I had hoped for better.
Frankly this is hardly what you'd call an adult colouring book. I bought it because of the picture on the front, which looked as if it would be exciting, and thought it would be along the lines of Colin Thompson, but I was rather disappointed. Sorry, but there we are, the drawing are very simplified and I shall give it to my ten year old granddaughter.

A fun adult colouring book!
This is a quality adult colouring book with a variety of different styles to choose from, ranging from more basic images to the more intricate. It contains a fun and unique selection of images to colour, each single sided, on a good weight paper, with perforation for easy removal. I was very pleased by the paper quality and weight, as some otherwise good adult colouring books have failed to offer this important feature. I like that I do not have staples through the middle of the images nor do I have bleed through into another image. I would happily recommend and purchase this item again.
