No scent with 10 drops
I suppose I'm going to be the only one who was extremely disappointed by this diffuser.I've been studying aromatherapy since the mid-80s when it was en vogue (again -- the popularity goes in cycles), and I bought my first diffuser from Whole Foods. I've been using that diffuser for years until I was given a Zaq Mini diffuser, fell in love with it, and decided I needed a 21st Century diffuser and really nice oils. I purchased the Zaq Noor diffuser and some doTerra oils. It was perfect! I loved it -- the Noor filled my bedroom with scent and I loved the multi-color lights, but it only lasted 4 hours. I wanted something that lasted all night. The Noor is in my home office and I needed one for my bedroom. I scoured Pinterest and read a lot of home-made articles about the 'best diffuser' and settled on this one, the doTerra Aroma Lite. I couldn't wait to use it with my doTerra Elevation oil, yay! What a let down. I put 6 drops of oil in there in the afternoon when my husband came home for lunch. He insisted he couldn't smell a thing but I didn't want to admit I had paid over one hundred dollars for a gimmick, so I insisted he had a cold, but I really couldn't smell anything either. I told him it's probably because I have the setting on 8-hour and the scent output is finer. Later on, I realized that I had forgotten to put it on 8-hour, it was on the 4-hour. The scent should have been boomin'.At night, I tried my Lavender oil by Plant Therapy. That's the best Lavender I've tried and you can smell it for miles around -- nothing. The mist came out as beautiful as anything but no scent. I originally put in 5 drops but after an hour I put in 5 more drops -- nothing. I switched out the tap water for distilled water to see if that would make a difference. It didn't. With the Noor, I put in 5 drops and that's it for the entire house to smell beautiful. With the Aroma Lite, since my bedroom fan was on I got a nice whiff every once in a while, but that's not aroma-therapy. That's a Glade Plug-In that I can get at Walmart.Three more things I didn't like about this product (1) when I went to change the water for a new oil, the water was very warm, almost hot! Isn't Aromatherapy 101 not to heat the oil? (2) the plug is the kind that doesn't lay flat against the wall, so if you're plugging it in behind a dresser, you'll have to keep the furniture pulled away from the wall a bit; (3) The one lavender light is not at all sexy. You can see through the light to the inside of the water tank --- just a few shapes but it's not really all that pleasant to look at.I'm very sorry, doTerra fans, but I'm going back to the Zaq diffusers. I thought I was going top-of-the-line here (all respect to you Young Living fans) but this was garbage. Amazon has already generated my refund and I'm going for the Zaq Galaxy or Mirage.

Pampers you and works hard at the same time. I love it
I'm so happy with this diffuser. It produces a continuous heavy volume of mist when put on the 4 hour setting.I have a large combination living/dining/kitchen area; the scent didn't quite cover the whole area until I placed a small oscillating fan behind it. Now the scent is beautifully distributed. This unit produces a reliable heavy scented mist and seems to be a workhorse.I've had absolutely no issues with it. I keep it on the counter dividing the room and fill it from a cup rather than carrying it over to the sink for filling. My essential oils are kept in a drawer immediately below it and I enjoy having a great choice of scents available each day. I mix and match them to my mood. It's the first thing I do each morning after filling my first coffee cup and I look forward to it every day. .I agree with another reviewer that having the cord coming out of the bottom is a minor annoyance, but it hasn't given me a problem and doesn't make it unsteady. I like that it has rubber feet which keep it stabilized and I've never bumped it or turned it over while filling it.I rarely notice any sounds from it and when I do, it's just a soft pleasant gurgle. I'm not sure why that would bother anyone; people buy fountains just to get that relaxing moving water sound. I love this unit so much that I'm about to purchase a second one for the bedroom. It's pricy but works like a charm and is surely worth the price to me. Having a luxury item like this perform so flawlessly is a joy.

Love it!!
This is an excellent diffuser. I've loved doTERRA essential oils for a long time, but this was the first time I bit the bullet and bought a higher end diffuser. Let me just say that I can definitely tell the difference. It is silent, and within an hour, fills my 500sq foot studio apartment with very high ceilings full of wonderful aroma. I love the small profile/footprint, so many diffusers on the market are bulky and/or gimmicky looking, and this one is little and elegant and packs a lot of punch. I've had the PETAL diffuser before (which actually takes up a little more space), but it just didn't diffuse enough for my space. If you are diffusing for a smaller space, like a small bedroom, you really only need two or three drops of oil. The eight hour intermittent function works excellently, as does the four hour continuous, and it's completely silent. No annoying buzzing or gurgling. One way to keep your diffuser running a long time is to make sure you don't overfill it (overfilling puts extra pressure on the vibration chip and can make water leak into the system and short out your system). The aroma lite comes tank has a vertical fill line and you fill it up to where that line stops. I also really like that the unit has a plastic cover that protects the tank while it's running, it also helps prevent spills if you are carrying it through the house. It's a wonderful addition to my home!

Solid high quality oil diffuser for large rooms
This has really helped keep our home relaxed during the first few months of our new baby. We wanted something better for the air verse the plug-in type oils and found doTerra oils at a local store. My only issue with this is that it isn't large enough for the amount we use it, well, it is, but I would like to not have to fill it up everyday. It is just ONE more thing to do in our limited new baby lifestyle. And the instructions say not to leave it plugged in when it is out, even though it shuts off on its own. So that's made me paranoid to wake up at night when it runs out to unplug from the wall, or try to remember in my head ~8 hrs when I have it on the longest setting. I would love double the capacity. But it is strong enough to make our entire living room smell and feel great for the period it's running. The smell in these oils don't "linger" so once its been off awhile you can't smell it any longer.
