Globe Electric 52899 Pratt Desk Lamp, 18 in 1-Light, Matte Black Tripod Base

I like the unique dark green color and clean lines of this lamp. I added grow bulbs and it currently is helping my Nepenthes and a few of my Hoya to thrive!

When I made my purchase, there were no reviews of the 2-light model. Glad I took a chance. I really like the style and it seems to be of good quality. I like that each light has a switch on the shade, which is both convenient, and allows the lights be used together or separately. I have an expensive single light version of this lamp with a marble base made by a different manufacturer. I wanted a second one for my guest room, but didn't want spend that much. So finding this 2-light lamp saved money and it's nice that it's is a little different. This 2-light lamp is about as solid and attractive as my expensive one. A couple reviewers complained about the shades getting hot. That does not happen if you use LED bulbs.

Needed a lamp with two bulbs that could be controlled independently without breaking the bank. This looked good and was one of few in this price range. Packed well but still had minor scratches here and there, including a somewhat sharp protrusion on one knob that I sanded down. Base was sturdy. For the price didn’t bother sending it back.

I had a similar lamp that I rarely turned off and after so many years it died. This lamp is the closets one I could find to my original one. It's not bad looking and it's doing the job. This is important to me because I'm disabled and I can't walk in the dark.

The media could not be loaded.  The style of the lamp is very attractive, but it just sits inside the clamp handle, there is no way to actually secure it tightly. It ended up being super flimsy once the weight of the lamp was sitting loosely inside the clamp. Returned it since I wanted something more durable.Also, for those wondering, the head does tilt so it can point straight down (the ad doesn’t show that it can tilt all the way down). Too bad the actual connection with the clamp is very loose and the entire unit won’t be vertical because it ends up tilting left and right.

In short, specifically for the Matte Black variant, the lamp has really poor quality. The black paint job is incredibly sloppy and makes the $30 dollar lamp look like a $10 attempt at making a lamp.I bought the lamp for the aesthetics, form factor, adjustability and the option to use my own E26 bulb (I'm using a KASA LED Smart Bulb-- KL125P2). The exterior of the lamp is a matte black finish (albeit a poor one), the interior of the lamp head is reflective white paint (which is good since white scatters light evenly). The switch is a rotary cord switch (ratchet wheel). The back of the lamp head has some cut outs for ventilation (which does leak light out), I have not experienced heat issues, however note I am using an LED bulb.Although it is a bit nitpicky to complain about the paint, at $30 I was able to buy a O'Bright Floor Lamp that stands 70'' tall with a high quality Matte Black Paint job and doesn't have any paint defects like this lamp does.Other notes:- Tilt adjustability cannot go past perpendicular from the floor but I've found this to be a non issue (if you need that, this type of lamp isn't what you're looking for--table lamps typically don't point upwards).- The tri-legs are not adjustable which could be limiting if you have an uneven surface.- Lamp feels a bit short, the length excluding the lamp head and the tri-leg base is approximately 1 foot (12 inches) at maximum height. The full 18 inch measurement is including the top of the lamp head to the lowest point of one of the lamp legs.- Lamp head (the cylinder) is about 4 inches in diameter, and near 6 inches long.

I bought this lamp for my small home office. It’s a great size and it compliments the room.

I bought this for an uplight, however, it was designed as a down light (disappointed). I had to remove the bolt in the light cylinder and give it a flip and replace the bolt and now it's the perfect uplight for my needs (happy!). Made of metal with a ceramic light socket, feels like it will last a long time.

Esta súper sencilla y combina muy bien con cualquier espacio. La cabeza de la lámpara se puede acomodar muy fácil. El cable tiene un largo adecuado.

Hago uso de la misma durante mucho tiempo, incluso de manera continua, y aún así no se calienta ni nada.Es muy fácil darle la dirección a donde se desea que refleje la luz.

This is a nice looking lamp that gives off great light (option of using both or just one light). Only complaints were some very minor flaws in the finish (not a big deal) and the stickers on top of each lamp head by the switch, indicating which direction to turn for ‘on’. Peeling them off is hard and leaves a sticky residue. Do people really need an ‘on’ arrow??
