40W Color Changing LED Pool Light Bulb, Allisable 12V RGB LED Swimming Pool Light Bulb, Replacement for Pentair Hayward Light Fixture, Color Memory, Remote Control and Switch Control(AC/DC 12V)

I decided on this light because of all the positive reviews and I can honestly see why but I guess I just got hit with some bad luck. I ordered this and it arrived quickly and I so exited to see all the possibilities with our pool. Our pool guy offered to install it and went we turned on the switch it didn't work. I was of course bummed but knew that it may have gotten dropped or damaged in shipping so I decided to order a replacement. This time when it was installed it came on perfectly and looked amazing. I couldn't wait to see the possibilities when it got dark. After dark when I went to test out the remote control it wasn't working from around 50 feet. I couldn't understand why but as I got closer to the pool it seemed like it was trying to work. I then went to extend the antenna and realized that the antenna was broke at the base. It pulled out all of the way. That would probably explain why it wouldn't work at a greater distance. The light is already installed and looks great on blue and I really don't want to have the light removed again since I have already paid for that and the light actually looks great. I just have no way to control the color changing and all of it's options. I have tried to send an email to the company that was on a card that was included. I have yet to hear back from them but I hope to so that I can use this light. Despite the bad luck I've had with this purchase I know things happen and I hope that the company will reach out and send me a new remote. If so I would truly recommend this bulb, if not I guess I'll be sending this one back too.

Love the quality and brightness of the light, perfect for any size pool

It’s a really nice light. The ‘white’ mode is easily as bright as the original bulb I replaced. Everyone’s favorite was the cyan or blue. I had to replace the blown bulb anyway, so it was a perfect time to upgrade. It was a direct replacement for my 12V light and works flawlessly with my 300w transformer. I uploaded some pictures including the copy of the user manual. Couple of things worth mentioning. It’s worth mentioning that the remote control won’t work very well if you install the light in a metal housing like a Hayward housing like I had. The metal housing blocks the signal for the remote control, like how tinfoil hats are supposed to work, lol. If you are replacing your light I recommend also replacing the rubber seal to guard against water intrusion. I found that I could switch the light by cycling the switch off and on. The remote works with my metal housing if I stand right over the light (on the deck) and dip the antenna in the water till it communicates with the light. Because of the nature of aluminum blocking radio signals I wasn’t too surprised about this, and it references this behavior in the user manual. Also, for some reason it doesn't come with a battery for the remote, so you will also have to buy an A23 battery. It has lots of programs and lights up the pool really well (except red, which nobody seemed to like anyway). All in all a cool upgrade to the pool area.

The media could not be loaded.  Everyone that has a problem with this item is with the remote. In the fine writing description it tells you might not work if light is in a metal cover . The only way to find that out is to install and test . It worked perfect out of water . After spending an hour getting the unit back on the wall the remote is useless. I read to just use my house switch . what I get is an uncontrollable lighting mode . So I called amazon and they refunded me the total amount ($109.99 plus tax) and told me to keep the light . Thank You Amazon. but what do I do now . I will probably take out the unit and try to program it out of water.. If you look at all the review that is the major problem .. I will also try to put the remote in a large zip lock bag and put it right next to the light underwater to see if that works . got nothing to lose

So I am the type of guy who spends hours reading reviews on everything I buy. I have always thought pool LED lights make a pool so much more inviting and fun especially for those late night swims. Unfortunately, my pool was built with one of the regular no fun style halogen lights. Last year I bought some battery powered LED “discs” that attached to a bracket that was designed to hang on my pool returns. These were ok but the lights would get out of sync and they were a pain to take in and out to charge. Then my ridiculous review reading habits paid off and I stumbled on this color changing LED pool light replacement bulb! I smashed that add to cart button, closed my eyes, and proceeded to check out. The shipping was fast and I installed this light with no issues. The remote works great which is a common complaint with other pool LED lights. I do recommend changing out your pool light gasket since you have to take the light apart anyway to install your new light. This is a great upgrade for any pool. So if you have read this far in my review waste no more time and buy this light!

The media could not be loaded.  The light itself gets 5 stars. It is bright and the color is excellent. The downside is the remote. It may as well not have one to be honest.I installed the light in the pool after testing out of the water. Everything worked great. Left it on the white setting and was going to chose a mode after dark.Luckily I decided to check the modes underwater before it was dark. The remote could not transmit to the light once fully installed in the pool.I removed the whole assembly and switched to the desire mode and reinstalled. What a pain!Bottom line is buy for the light not the remote!
