Nautica Men's Classic Double Breasted Peacoat - DARK NAVY and CHARCOAL
Overall, very happy with the quality and fit of this coat. I ordered the same coat in both Dark Navy and Charcoal. I ordered a Large as I have a muscular build and wanted enough room in the shoulders and chest so I could wear the coat over something heavier like a sweater in winter. The arm length is a bit long, as others have noted, but nothing drastic. The Charcoal coat is darker than the photos would suggest; the photos make the Charcoal color appear much lighter, like a Grey. I was pleasantly surprised the Charcoal was indeed darker than the photos show. One caution regarding the Dark Navy color; it is VERY dark. Unless you have the coat in the right lighting, it will look black, not navy; it's that dark. I thought mine was mislabeled but in natural daylight you can see it's Navy...but it will fool your eyes. If you're looking for a truer, lighter Navy, this may not be a good color-fit for you.

Nice fitting, stylish coat
While researching pea coats, this one by Nautica came up with good reviews on several sites so I decided to take a chance at the $80 price range plus the fact that it was a slim fit coat. The coat is very nice. It is a slim fit and I love how it fits me. I did have to size DOWN. I am 6' and 175 lbs and normally take a large in all of my coats but took a MEDIUM in this coat. Some reviewers noted that the jacket was "itchy" and not warm but I did not experience any itchiness and the jacket, while not a winter parka, was warmer than expected. I receive many compliments on it when I am wearing it. Minor issues is the weird strip of fabric behind the collar that other reviewers mentioned and I noticed that the material may pick up lint more than normal but nothing that a good lint roller can handle.

Classic Quality
Absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully made. High quality in every respect. Flattering fit.

Good peacock. Could be thicker.
Fit is great and it is warm. I only wish that the material was a little thicker so that it worked in colder weather without more layering. It get below zero where I live every winter. For the money it is great.

Solid Coat, For The Price Range
TLDR...This is a solid peacoat for the sub-$100 price range. It is not the equivalent of more expensive versions found elsewhere, but if you want a stylish option with acceptable build and fabric quality, then this coat will fit the bill. Fabric....It is 50% wool, which is acceptable for the price tag. Most real peacoats will be 80-100% wool, but at this price point, this blend is fine. A true 100% wool peacoast (besides being hard to find these days) will usually run $200 - $400, depending on the designer. The advantage to having a wool blend is it tends to repel water well. If you plan on wearing in snow, sleet, or rain it will hold up well. Quality....This is the one area where this coat is a little lacking. There are no "red flags" but some definite items to consider. The buttons are not great. They are flimsy and one was attached oddly. It was an easy fix that took three minutes and some thread but for a new coat from a major brand, I would expect better here. There is also no center vent which make movement and sitting comfortably a little less than ideal. Finally, the inner pockets are have no internal anchor so every time you pull out your gloves the pockets turn inside out. Again, this was an easy "fix" with a little thread, a button anchor, and ten minutes, but something I would have expected to be included in the design. (I may also be a little picky about this particular item). Warmth....I find it comfortable in the 20's to 30's but in conditions below this it is lacking. The coat has a substantial liner including in the arms, but it just is not as warm as the more expensive peacoat models at higher price points. Fit...This is more of a "modern" cut but at the same time still baggy. If you want a tailored fit think about sizing down unless you are planning on wearing multiple layers underneath, then it is fairly true to size. Overall, this is more of a "fashion coat" mimicking the style of a peacoat rather than a "tool" peacoat. If you want an actual peacoat like sailors in the Navy wore back in the day then spend the money on something higher end, but if you just want something that rises to the level of acceptable in most departments and are wearing it for the look, the Nautica peacoast will serve you well for many yars.

Good coat
As someone that has owned a legitimate peacoat before this one: This one is very good. It's lighter than the real ones but, still provides ample warmth and protection from the wind. I've had mine for four years now, and it's still going strong.

Not bad for the money.
So this jacket is a modern slimmer cut interpretation of the classic pea coat. Where a traditional pea coat is large and boxy in order to fit over several layers, this coat fits more like a sportcoat. I'm 6'1", 196 lbs. I wear a 44R suit coat with 34W pants. I wanted a slimmer fitting pea coat for the less chilly days when a t-shirt or button down was being worn. This coat sizing is perfect for that. Shoulder seams fall perfectly and it is just roomy enough through the waist. If I wanted to wear a sweater or layer thicker clothing, this would be too tight and I would wear a traditional cut pea coat. Length is on par with the length you would find on a suit or sport jacket. The material is a softer, lighter weight, tighter woven fabric. Again warm enough for cool days, probably want something heavier if your in a colder climate or just don't tolerate cold very well. The underside of the collar has a bit of the same material used to line the jacket sewn in as a contrast. Not sure whether I like it or not, but this is a design choice and is only seen if you pop the collar to seal up your neck. Now as others have mentioned the quality control is a little off. The right side lower buttons are sewn through to the inside causing and odd constriction near the pocket. It is not sewn through the pocket and is easily remedied by removing the thread and restitching the buttons. For $80 or less, I feel this is a good coat that can have the minor QC issues easily remedied. For any higher cost or for a true original sizing or warmth level, keep looking. I already own a traditional cut wool pea coat, so this fit my needs at a reasonable price point. I would recommend this coat to others with the same needs as I.
