Dynomax 89006 Exhaust System Kit for GMC C1500

The kit works well. No mods needed with the stock manifolds.The box it arrived in was a little beat up. That's not Dynomax's fault.I would buy it again.1978 Chevy C-10. 400 CI engine.

this was stated to fit a long bed but all you have to do is cut the one pipe about 14 to 16 inchs,this kit was a great replacement,i made a couple of boo boos but that had nothing to do with the product,i bought this to replace my headers,i hate headers,i had the right and left sbc exhaust manifolds so I installed them and used this kit,it has all the correct hangers and really fits great,i ordred the mufflers and the total cost of everything was about 190 bucks,try getting that done at a muffler shop.and the best part no headers to leak.definitly a great buy.good quality piping,a five star.

dynomax is great originaly thought dynomax pipe was smaller diameter but turns out that TOTAL FLOW mufflers where to blame they made them oversized nice kit everything fit good on my 77 Chevy 2500

I put this exhaust on an 1984 GMC with a SBC 350...it bolted up very nicely...as many have mentioned the passenger down tube from the collector needs a little more bending..I still tac welded mine as with just the clamps it does move a little...

Had to do a little bit of modification to fit my 85 Chevy C20 long bed. But overall worked great.

Porely packed was missing partswhen arrived pipes were covered in burrs from the saws that cut them as if the saw blades were on there last legs and the manufacturer didn’t care about quality and had excess dents from pipe bender clamps. As a precision metal fabricator myself and a shop supervisor I would be ashamed for allowing such pore quality of work leave my shop if I had produced this kit.

Price and convenience

First. Open the box and throw the hardware in the metal bin. It’s cheap Chinese junk and it breaks. Buy hardware made in North America. You need 8 2 1/4 clamps. Kit short changes you and only comes with 6 so you have to buy them anyway. Pipes are ok should last 5 years. The fit is ok. If the Canadian government wasn’t taking my paycheques I could afford better.

Nice kit. Need to re use RH pipe to manifold and around driveshaft for 4x4. I imagine on a 2wd truck this exhaust would bolt right in for a no weld install

Front pipes are not engineered to fit at all. I switched the left pipe to right and went to the local repair shop that has a pipe bender and had them bend the pipes for me so I could make them work. After that is done and front pipes are pointing straight back instead of towards the ground everything fit great. Tailpipes were perfect. Throw the universal hangers and clamps in the garbage and buy good ones. If u are a mechanic like myself you can make this kit work for only the extra price of hangers and clamps. If u don’t have access to a pipe bender, this is not the kit for you.

Left side fit well ,right side nothing fit. Had to cut and weld every piece on the right side
