Educational
This is a wonderful book which allows the reader to learn about the Monarch butterflies. It is an informational book which teaches different point of view in literature. The vivid pictures are certain to help lower level readers as well as keep them engaged in reading.

CAPTURES THE WONDER AND MAGNIFICENCE OF THE MONARCH BUTTERFLIES' MIGRATORY FLIGHT
FLIGHT OF THE BUTTERSFLIES by Roberta Edwards proved to be a wonderful book. Admittedly I'm an adult who happens to be an avid fan of children's books, but I think anyone--young or old--would enjoy a quick read through the amazing migration flight of the Monarch Butterflies, which move south into Mexico for the winter. I learned many details about these beautifully delicate creatures that I'd never known before. Added to the wonder of how these butterflies "know" instinctively where to go and what to do even though they've never done the flight before is the illustrative work of Bob Kayganich. As I read along I kept wondering to myself....how does he do that?! "That" being capture the wonder and magnificence of the astronomical number of butterflies involved in the migratory flight. It is a wonderfully amazing book!

Educational yet slightly difficult for level 3 readers
This was a very accurate and educational book for kids. I am a science teacher and I read this to my four year old and the information was a little much for him but, the beautiful photography held his attention. I am not sure that this is a level 3 book, the vocabulary and information was a little difficult for young readers. Overall I thought it was a great book and very informative. It is a must for a science lesson on Monarch butterflies.

Fantastic Non Fiction Read
This book I scooped up was my favorite kindle so far, and found I loved everything about this delightful, fantastic book. I loved the way Ms. Edwards put the pronunciations in parenthesis beside the really complicated words. I loved the pictures she used. I loved her simple to understand explanations. This is a perfect book for homeschoolers and regular schoolers alike.

Flight of the Butterflies
As a preschool teacher of four-year-olds, I plan units of study for my children and one that I want to do is on migration of animals. This book is a little long for them but when I use it in the science center to add to my lesson when we bring in the butterflies to hatch and release it will be a beautiful reference book for out unit of study. One positive in this book, it points out animals that migrate and ones that stay in the same place, which is a concept that will be one of my goals for the children to learn. Flight of the Butterflies will fit perfectly into my lesson plans for the unit on animal migration next spring.

Interesting and appropriate for very young learners.
Super informative on the life cycle of monarch butterflies. The conservation issue is covered in appropriate detail for this reading level. I kind of wish there was a little more information provided on the conservation problem in the US, since that's where kids at this level can easily get involved (by planting milkweed and butterfly gardens and such), but the book covered the issue in Mexico (which I didn't know anything about before so I learned something!). I was still happy with this book, and the journey taken by monarchs really is fascinating!

Involving, beautifully illustrated and educational - how often does that happen ?
Both the boys and girls I teach enjoyed reading this book and that hardly ever happens! The text was clearly written and the illustrations were so original and beautiful the kids hardly realized they learning about migration. Wish there were more books in the series.

Nice! Tolles Buch!

Good book for inquisitive minds
I bought this as a Christmas present for my neighbour's 4 year old son.He might not be able to read it all by himself but he loved this book. His mom told me he'd go up to anyone who'd listen and ask if they wanted to hear about the monarch butterfly. :)
