not compound tincture (the good stuff)
It is plain tincture of benzoin, the good stuff is compound tincture of benzoin found in the little .6 ml ampule and I cannot seem to find a source for a large bottle like this so I took maybe 6 or 8 ampule and took the glass out putting them in a mesh strainer then broke them over a glass container and poured this over it to rinse out the good stuff then poured it back into this bottle. Probably wouldnt reccomend doing what I did lol. Please start selling a compound tincture of benzoin im desperate here lol.

Absolutely worked for me
I have a colostomy and sensitive skin around the stoma. I have struggled with skin problems for years. I tried many barrier wipes, barrier sheets and even the very expensive Marathon cyanoacrylate product (expensive and hard to use). None of these worked for me. I cannot say if this product will work for you, everyone is different. I can tell you that it absolutely worked for me. My skin has healed and looks as good as it did immediately after my surgery. It has the added benefit of securing the flange in place with zero leaks and zero problems.

This stuff works well to secure tape/bandages to skin
As a former Respiratory Therapist for 40 years we used Benzoin to tape ET tubes in place. I use it now to secure bandages on my skin as a I wait for my Skin Cancer surgery in 2 months. It works well, haven't found anything that works better.

Tincture of Benzoin - Alcohol and Bezoin - no added extras.
I used this twenty-eight years ago to hold athletic tape on my feet for severe plantar fasciaitis. As directed by the physician, wash feet, apply and let dry, then tape as demonstrated in his surgey. On my feet for eight hours, then four hour workout four nights a week. Did this for almost 7 months straight, and never had a problem with the tape coming off until my local pharmacy quit carrying this product. Some older pharmacists can tell you all about this, but not one of the pharmacies in my area carry it, nor can they order it for me. My foot problem cleared up after a longer year of having to tape without benzoin tincture. I decided after all this time I wanted to keep it on hand if ever needed, and here it is readily available on Amazon. This is a standard formula from the pharmaceutical formularies. I chose this one because of the larger 4oz size. Only suggestion I have is to cut the ap-plicator from the bottle top, throw it away, and use a smaller cotton swab, ball, or gauze square to apply only as needed to cover the area. You will waste less and have less drying time before applying bandage/tape/whatever. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Good quality tincture of benzoin
Tincture of benzoin is used to help adhesive dressings stick to the skin. Itโs derived from a resin and disolved in alcohol. It actually is believed by many to protect the skin. Our medical supplier ran out of tincture of benzoin for many months, but Amazon came through with this product which is an equivalent. Thanks Jeff!
