Bon Cop Bad Cop

A Canadian Lethal Weapon, kindof
Actually more like a Quebecois cop buddy movie. Expect swearing, bit o sex, blood & violence and explosions. Oh and hockey. Hockey is REALLY taken seriously in this movie. The over-the-top rabid hockey TV show scene made my lungs hurt, I laughed so hard!High school French will not help you much (got maybe 1 in 10 words) but this is such a fun, turn-off-your-brain movie, that I won't mind watching it again and again to pick up the language better.

I really like this movie, and two recent television series have now used variations of the same plot.
I first saw this movie years ago and loved it. In recent years, using a slight plot variation, a Swedish-Danish series called "The Bridge" was released. Now there is yet another version of the story called "The Tunnel" where French and British police must cooperate to solve a border murder. All of them are the same basic plot, but this version still has more dark humor to it, and I see more new things each time that I watch it. With the newer variations on it, I finally opened my wallet and bought a copy. Terrific movie.

Great fun and misadventures between two Cops at opposite ends of many spectrums. Don't miss it.
Saw this movie a while back and thought it was a lot of fun. Wild car chases and the problems that arise when two Canadian Cops- one from the French speaking province is paired on a case with an English speaking Cop from another province. Both with totally different backgrounds, languages, and customs, mores etc. They make a lot of blunders unknowingly because of their differences, and some just to shake things up. It's an hilarious movie and I recommend it highly.

Pretty Good Cop Bad Cop
A friend from Canada recommended this. We found the humor over the top at certain times and the violence intense, but would still recommend it for its portrayal of the Anglophone/Francophone tensions in Quebec. Colm Feore we knew from Slings and Arrows, and although he plays a completely different sort of character here, he's always fun to watch.

Learn English/ French
My son wanted this movie to help him learn French. My daughter in law used it to help her learn English. We watched it together and it is a drama/comedy kind of cop movie. The subtitles are helpful with the mixture of French and English being said at the same time.

Bad Cop good Cop
This film is like Six Days and Seven Nights. I could watch it once a day. These two birds work well together. One reserved Englishman and one crazy Frenchman. Of course they are both Canadians on the same side. The Frenchman is a cross between John Wayne and Sledgehammer (remember him)? Just a funny movie.

love this film!
I confess, I'm Canadian, used to live in Ottawa (I maybe get more of the humour than some) and already own a copy. This one is for my Mum. I've bought two, how many films can you say that about?

Québécois comedy about mismatched cops
This is a hysterically funny film, a twist on the buddy cop dynamic with a Canadian twist. When a dead body is found on the border of Quebec and Ontario two cops with different cultures and languages and policing styles have to work together. Could have been better executed plot wise but great concept.

Glad to finally have this on Blu-ray!
Great, funny film, in the same genre as Lethal Weapon and other not-quite-buddy-cop films. Thanks!

Super Film

Great film!
Loved this film. Studied Canadian French and language issues in the country. This film made it hilarious but was also just a fab movie in itself! Well worth a watch.

excellent film, my only comment is that I was expecting the subtitles to translate the French into English not the other way round! I should have read the description more closely! Not a huge problem for me but I was going to lend it to a non-French-speaking friend of mine when I'd seen it. Tant pis.
