Zipper Slider Replacement Kit- Universal #5 Vislon Sliders - Color Black (10 Sliders/Pack) Fits 5V & 5VS Sliders

90's era coil zipper - works. I have '90s era coil zippers where the original part has had the pull break or has had the zipper body corrode. These parts from YKK universal number 5 were satisfactorially installed on coil zippers 30 years old to restore functionality. I am quite happy with these parts especially after having purchased other parts from a different discount vendor which were not functioning as intended on pre 2000s era coil zippers. There is a difference between number 5 made currently and number 5 made historically prior to 2000 or so. After giving this zipper a slight tune-up pinch with the pliers as commonly is needed, everything works as intended.

These are perfect i was able to replace the zippers on a couple of the kids and grandkids coats and save a lot of money on replacing coats!

Good News: The sliders I received were genuine YKK metal sliders. Bad News: These sliders were not "universal fit." They were 5Vs sliders which don't fit the older and thicker 5V zippers on two very old Land's End coats I wear for yard work. The website picture is of generic/no-name 5V sliders. The rounded top is characteristic of genuine YKK 5V sliders. Genuine YKK 5Vs sliders have a "winged" top. Why Four Stars? The sliders were genuine YKK and I was given a prepaid return shipping label to return the sliders.

These replacements worked great! They salvaged 2 $30.00 hoodies that are favorites of mine. All I needed was a small flathead screwdriver to open the zipper channel a little and a pair of needle nose pliers to close the once installed.

My jacket is more than 30 years old and the zipper slide just did not work. It was worth a try.

The sliders seem to be direct replacements. Even though I now have a pouch of spare sliders, one is all it took to salvage a $200 coat. The zipper works better than new.

I've purchased replacement zipper slides from this seller in the past and have received the clasps (stops) that crimp on the ends of the zipper to keep the slide from coming off. I am very disappointed to see that the new slides I just received do not come with the clasps. The clasps are not reusable so you need new ones when replacing the slide. Update: I contacted seller and was told that they would send me the missing clasps (stops). A week later, I received a package of 10 slides that I didn't ask for and 9 (not 10) stops. So now I have a total of 20 slides and 9 stops. Argh! I originally gave it one star but have increased it to three stars as they tried to make it right, but fell short.

Perfect for the job

Great product and great customer service. Fixed 2 broken zippers within minutes of receiving. Just like new. They were kind enough to include a few zipper stops when I asked them. I had used the universal zipper kit from another company previously. While they worked, they were plastic and broke after a few months. These zipper repairs are a solid metal and should last a long time. Would definitely purchase again.

Pretty easy to change the one that was broken for this new one.
