His quick wit and ability to mimic language and accents allows Russell to create characters of all races and cultures and forge an immediate bond with his audiences, regardless of their racial and cultural background. His Youtube videos have been viewed by over 20 million individual viewers. His website gets over 10,000 hits a day and alerts his many fans to his upcoming shows via targeted email blasts. He s performed sold-out tours of China, South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Jamaica, St. Maartens, Trinidad, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates and in 2007, was the first North American comic to tour India. During these tours he performed on the USS Eisenhower and in Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti and Greenland and was part of a special Thanksgiving Tour for the troops with the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Cartwright. Russell s comedy is rooted in the reality of growing up brown in white Canadian society. My family and I are Anglo-Indian, Russell explains. Anglo-Indians are a community of Indians from India who mixed with the British when they occupied India. Both of my parents are Anglo-Indian and their parents were Anglo-Indians and so on. It's not a Russell Peters show
First of all this isn't a Russell Peters show, if that's what you're coming here for try something else. He appears on stage to introduce some of his up and coming friends who each do about fifteen minutes of material. I'm not the biggest Russell Peters fan anyway and I was looking for a laugh here on Prime so I gave this a shot. I didn't find any of the comedians to be very funny in this show and that includes Tom Segura who appears first and is one of my favorite current comedians. This is clearly early material for Tom as he appears younger than I'm accustomed to seeing him and his jokes lack the professional polish and deadpan delivery that he is known for. The other comedians range from okay to outright bad. The last guy resorts to picking on the crowd and cheesy one liners. I can't stand when a so called "comedian" goes on stage and makes fun of audience members and calls that a show. Not because I'm sensitive about the audience feelings but because it's a lazy excuse for not having funny material. Telling somebody that they're fat, ugly, pointing out their racial heritage etc isn't stand up comedy.

Russell Peters Presents -- Not Ready for Prime Time
I purchased this because my family (wife and adult daughters) have enjoyed Russell Peters comedy. He is clever and has only mild excursions into the "blue zone". I had hoped this would be the same. It is not.It is not Russell Peters, except for some introductory and closing reamrks for each of four reputed commedians, ostensibly his favorite up-and-coming comics. This is possibly the most foul-mouted, obscene attempt at humor. The only place for this in my home is the garbage bin, which was mits first stop on the way to the disposal company. If this is a hint of where Russel Peters comedly is headed, I will no longer be a fan of his. Russell Peters Presents
