Mark Knopfler/Chet Atkins - Neck and Neck

As other reviewers have written, this is not a book for beginners...but then neither Chet nor Mark are beginning guitar players. This seems to match up very well to what you hear on the CD by the same name. Not to scare off anyone interested in picking up some new techniques or tips, I think you would find this book of value even if you don't aspire to being able to play like the masters.

Great price, artists and information. If your into real music, Knofler and Atkins hit the mark. There'll be some changes made - is my pick for the greatest song in the list. Hope I will play it one day.

Good song selection, especially good explanation on tabs in back of book. Definetly not for a beginner. Good chord diagrams at beginning of songs.

I bought this for 'I'll See You In My Dreams'. I am very satisfied! I only wish I was good enough to play these songs better. Very challenging, but the versions are note for note accurate. Well worth the price and a must if your a Chet or Mark fan and want to learn their stuff.

Great book, good stuff! Amazing tab, notation and everything really! Although, one thing I can agree with in previous reviews, this is not beginners stuff. More like aerobics for your hands. Great fingerpicking stuff!!!

I have been playing guitar for over 40 years, and believe me, this is way beyond my capabilities. Naturally it is transcribed for two guitars, but even with an experienced partner, we found this extremely difficult. It is not intermediate that's for sure. Only for very advanced country picking players. A waste of money in my case, but certainly accurately transcribed.

Bought this mainly to learn Poor Boy Blues and the book was a great help. Accurate transcriptions as far as I could tell. Some of the licks are beyond me at present, particularly the Chet Atkins ones, but at least I know what notes to aim for! All in all a good purchase.
