Zen Pencils-Volume Two: Dream the Impossible Dream (Volume 2) Paperback – October 13, 2015

This wonderful book is so inspirational! It is also easy and fun to read. The pictures speak volumes in themselves, and are a delight.I have been following Gavin on his website for over a year, and this book just makes me more of a fan than ever. I highly recommend getting it and keeping it where you can be inspired.

Gavin's work really touches my soul in a way that few other things do. Though I can't predict exactly how you will feel about it, I'm willing to bet that if you need some inspiration in your life or if you just like positive messages and cool, sometimes quirky drawings you will LOVE this book.I really like that his work touches on such a wide variety of situations like dealing with the frustrations of a dead-end job, trying to lose weight/get in shape, staying persistent in the face of adversity, the ups and downs of romantic relationships, finding and staying true to your self as a person and your passions.I have 11 of his posters in my classroom and sometimes I tell my students to go read a particular one when they're stuck on a problem or feeling frustrated or lost. They seem to enjoy them and take heart and that makes me glad.This book and it's predecessor may not be the solution to all of your life's challenges (or maybe they are, lol!) but they'll certainly give you some inspiration to get a start or keep at whatever it is you need to do to get where you want to be.Gavin, if you're reading this, "THANKS A MILLION!" XD

Gavin has once again proved how inspirational his comics could get with the release of Zen Pencils, Volume II.I've been following his works since 2013 and whenever I read his comic I feel good and inspired at the same time. His cartoons are lively and colourful which makes reading his comics very fun too. I've already recommended his work to most of my friends and colleagues!The book which he has released, Zen Pencils Volume II, looks pretty and the materials used are of good quality too.I would definitely recommend this book.

Gavin has a unique vision to bring distinctive life to quotes, some familiar, some less so. Bonus: He came to Berkeley last year and signed our copy after giving a nice talk about his adventure in life that brought him to this point. Nice man. Get his books. You'll enjoy them and nice to pick up and read if you're feeling down.

Its beautiful, I recommend it.But before reading this book I suggest you that you read the first book. I guaranty that you will like it

I've been following this author via his web-site for several years now, and I've loved his work. When I found out he was issuing a second volume of his work, I pre-ordered it.His comics are invigorating, optimistic, and remind the reader to pursue those things that are most valuable and precious in life. It would be reductive to simply say he hopes the reader will follow his or her dreams. It's closer to the mark to say that he believes and wants the reader to believe, that there is more possible than we may imagine. And rather than offer platitudes or any kind of self-help book. He shows us how every day, there are those willing to do the hard work of living well and earnestly.

I first saw Zen Pencils while perusing through the pages of tumblr. I stumbled upon one of the strips with the quote from James Rhodes (180. JAMES RHODES: Is that not worth exploring?) and I don't know if it was because it was really late night or if I was at a vulnerable stage, but it brought me to tears and I was hooked.Gav's comics really appeal to me, because as a person who loves doing art, I can relate how the pressures of the professional and familial world can distract you doing something that gives you joy. This is ONE of the many themes that Gav chooses quotes from, and I know for sure that there is/will be a comic that will speak the truth for each individual person.Also the art itself is pretty cool to look at... ;)

Artist Gavin Aung Than entertains and inspires, by bringing the inspirational words of others to life. The general theme focuses on being true to yourself and then sharing the happiness that truth generates with the world. I have found that the stories are easy to relate to, regardless of your age, and so I share these fantastic works of art with my children. How lucky we are to live in a world where the profound is not inaccessible to the common man. Gavin takes that accessibility a step further, creating visual stories that make these selected quotes even more memorable, and in doing so, makes us all the luckier.
