Update:My husband had installed this filter and I assumed it had fit well, but it didn't. The grooves are not notched properly and do not securely twist up into the filter holder. Apparently my husband had got it "semi" in place, but it wasn't as tight as it should be. The result, leaking. We ended up tossing it after hardly using it because it does NOT fit right in our Samsung refrigerator, even though it claims to be the right size filter for our model. I even double-checked to make sure we didn't get the wrong model number, but it's supposedly the right one. The shape and size of the filter are basically identical, but the notches on the stem are angled improperly and this prevents the filter from going in all the way.We always buy after market filters for our Samsung fridge and have never had one not fit properly.Original:I will update if we have any issues w/this filter or if it doesn't last close to 6 months. We use a lot of water, so we hardly ever have a filter that actually last 6 months. We usually get around 5 months w/our filters, so I'm hoping this filter will be the same. I don't see why it shouldn't.

*Note: Received the product in exchange for an honest review*This isn't the first water filter replacement I've ordered -- this is the first one I've received that didn't work. It didn't fit my fridge at all, despite the fact that it matches the code for the replacements I always get. The neck simply didn't fit into the fridge's attachment. Also somewhat concerning was that it lacked any type of plastic seal marking it as unused, which I seem to remember being standard on replacement filters. Overall, useless, unless you need an oddly shaped paperweight.

This is an economical and functional water filter replacement cartridge (model code HAFCUI, Samsung replacement DA29000003G) that fits well and easily and is expected to last for 6 months. The packaging is minimal and doesn't come with all the bells and whistles of the Samsung filters (which cost nearly twice as month). Missing is the large foldout instruction sheet and the sticker for install/replace date. The large sheet is helpful if this is your first time changing the filter, but if you've done it before, you shouldn't need it. There is a grooved line to show when you have it in the proper placement and the refrigerator itself indicates which way to turn to insert or take out. I used a Sharpie to indicate what month would the month 6 (time to replace). I've not experienced any leakage and the water tastes as good as usual.

I have tried using this exact filter and it will not screw into the holder for my Samsung Refrigerator. It does not have the same notches in it as the DA29-00003G filter and will not work for that type.
