I would modify the rules if you have only one child who is the right age
The way we play this is that adults call out the words, and if the child is right, the child gets the fly and a point. If they're wrong, the adult calling out the word reads it aloud and takes the fly. That way there's a nice level of competition that also teaches every word, that the child is likely to win every time.

Sturdy material
We love this swat game. The swatters are sturdy. The kiddos needed a little bit of help to get started but once we taught them once they knew how to do it on their own. This game will need supervision as an adult will need to read out the sight words.

Great way to make learning sight words fun!!
My daughter enjoys playing this game so much! It is a great way to drive home the concept of knowing a word on sight, as you have to be the first person to swat the sight word fly. The fly cards with the words are quite sturdy as well as the swatter. A bag to store the items as well as some rubberbands were provided for you to sort the cards and keep them in order.

A fun teaching game.
My granddaughter & I play swat the alphabet with this. We are working on the smaller site words but she is 4 and knows her alphabet and so gets to swat faster and more often. She giggles at grandma being slow to swat. She wins sometimes and I win sometimes so it teaches sportsmanship too. There are so many words it will take until she is way older to learn so this game will be around a long time in our house. The swatters are really sturdy and perfect size for little hands to hold onto but I can hold them too. Having fun and learning at same time, can’t get better than that.

So fun!
Got this for my 4 year to work on sight words and the concept is so fun! My daughter loves racing to see who can find the word the fastest. The only em reason why I gave 4 vs 5 stars is that The paper used for the flies is pretty thin and I’m not sure how long it will hold up.

Great for smaller kids learning sight words
I got this for my four year old because since he has started preschool he has become interested in reading. Other things have not worked for teaching sight words and he loves games! This has been great at keeping his attention and actually remembering the words I set out. He also gets to laugh a ton because he thinks the game is funny.

Colorful and my kids enjoy playing it
My kids are very happy with this game. Could I have made it with note cards and dollar tree bug swaggers? Yes. Is this simple, colorful, and boxed nicely? Yes. Not sure it’s worth what I paid but my kids enjoy it so I’ll call it a win.

Great little sight word game
The swatters are thick and sturdy. The bugs are also fairly thick. Great little game. LOTS of sight words to work on.
