Straight from Scandinavia!
We recently visited my daughter and her .... well fiancee would be a stretch, so let's leave it at ... boyfriend in Norway. We stayed for a week Since I am the chef in the family (though, she's a a close second), out of the blue she asked me to make chicken enchiladas, a dish she had loved as a kid. After getting what I could from the local food market that was equivalent to Mexican ingredients (i.e. "unsweetened yogurt" instead of sour cream, and tortillas? ... well, let's just pass on those), we set to work. They had a pair of these pans that were provided as a housewarming gift and having heard of them, I wanted to give it a try. They were amazing! They did not stick, the ingredients just swirled and combined effortlessly, and the cleanup was a breeze. So when I returned to the US, it was one of my first purchases (I am not even sure if I was off the plane before I hit 'Add to Cart'. And we have been in happy concert since. My existing (and excellent) stainless steel pans aside, when I need a go-to, these are them.

Durable pans
Oil beads up on these pans so you only need a light coating or none. The clean easily and overall I'm happy with them for simple sautéing but I use a varity of pans depending on what I cook.

Trash
Total trash!! Breaks down and you have black particles in your food. Customer service is even worst. STAY AWAY FROM ANY SCANPAN PRODUCT!!! All garbage.

Coating Peeling after a few years of Dishwashing.
Originally loved these pans. And they are well made. They claim these pans are DISHWASHER SAFE. Sadly however, the coating began to peel after a few years of dishwashing (Bosch Dishwasher, see photos). If you purchase, I would strongly suggest hand washing these pans.

Nonstick pans that last are hard to find. These do!
This is my second set of ScanPan frying pans. They weren’t purchased to replace the first set. They were purchased for my vacation home because I got tired of using cheaper, inferior pans. I had the first set for many years and they look and work like the day they were purchased. They are heavier than the cheap pans and distribute heat well. Although the manufacturer claims you can be tough with them, I prefer to hand wash and use non-metal utensils. Hand washing is quick because nothing sticks. Yes, they cost a bit more but they’re worth it. I have yet to find any other pans that last more than a year or two. I’ve had my first set for more than 10 years. I highly recommend these pans!

Excellent pans
Cook evenly, without sticking and look great. I was tired of scraping sticky stuff of my stainless. I am very pleased w these pans and have bought a few more. Keep temp med or med high, not super high. And clean w plain dish soap and soft rag or non stick nylon brush. Mine look brand new even after a year. My ‘go to’ pans. I have a true induction cooktop and these pans perform exceedingly well.

Finally.... a fantastic duo of sauté pans!
What I was looking for were sauté pans with an even, flat surface (so, do you too find when you crack on egg into a pan that it slides to one side or another.. never, ever, stays in the center of the pan?). These pans are, without doubt, the finest quality I’ve ever had.. I won’t degrade other well known pans and, I’ve many.. There is a ‘learning curve’ to cooking with them. It is quite simple, follow the instructions on a little sheet (no use of Pam, heat pan on medium heat).. that’s about it! They are worth the freight. You take care of the pans and they won’t disappoint!

Scanpan warranty is a joke.
I owned the Scanpan for about 1.5 years. Initially, it was a great fry pan. easy to cook and clean. However, after about 1.5 years of use it slightly warped and developed other small imperfections. Contacted Scanpan warranty department and they asked me to send the pan back to them (at my expense of course). After about four weeks the pan got back to us with a note that the warranty claim was denied without any explanation. I paid about $200 for this pan and was extremely disappointed. Called the service department. At the time it had only one pretty rude individual handling all warranty claims in the USA. Again, I was told that my pan was ineligible for warranty -- this time the reason given was high temperature cooking. How one can cook without heating the pan is beyond me. Ended up throwing this pan into the garbage. Bought All clad instead and never had any problems ever since.
